This time around, however, I find myself fascinated by them. Skyrim seems to have given the Khajiiti something this time that is a lot deeper than they've had before. They have a unique culture, sort of this wandering gypsie feel to them. They are slightly exotic, sortof hinting at a classical "arabian" theme mixed with a little bit of the indus. They tell stories of their homeland, which is in such stark contrast to Skyrim that it really does feel foreign and distant.
That's nothing like Oblivion where "Elsewheyre" (god forgive I could never spell that) is little more than "oh that area past the invisible wall there? Yea more trees 'n stuff."
I dunno, for the first time I'm actually interested in playing a Khajiit. I've never, ever been interested in the race before and I've been playing TES since Morrowind. I've never started a Khajiit character, not once. I've done every race but them and the argonians.
So my hat is off to Bethesda on making the Khajiit race more interesting this time around. I think "Elsewheyr" (oh lord) has become one of my new favorite "exotic place" to visit. I do hope that some day soon, before I die, we get and expansion or a game set there. All of a sudden I'm intrigued.
As an aside, my most-looked-forward-to places for future games/expansions are, in this order:
Akavir
Summerset
Elsewheyr
Skyrim (was here)
Valenwood
Blackmarsh
Anywhere else.
