I think it should stay a tradition just like TES prisoner starts. Hero dying or just wandering on after job is done is just very fresh, bold, and original. The ending, where you learned the fate of everyone, was a kicker. Suffice to say, FONV is the only game I've finished where I clicked "New Game" rather than "Exit Game". First I was, like, "WTF man"? Then became "WOW, that's just awesome"

The first playthrough is rarely the most thorough for me, I use it to get a good "feel" of the game. I may even do reloads to try different things. It's the next ones that counts, this is when I go deep into character, i.e. playing the uber good one that never steals - he never will. Saves are for backups only in case of corrupted quick saves, never to go back on a mistake or even faulty quest. If I want to go another faction, I start from scratch.
