Loving comfort bugs.....

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 9:04 am

It appears a couple of marriageable NPC's either will not sleep or do not deliver the lover's comfort bonus as intended. My redguard married Senna, and has been unable to attain the bonus. Has anyone else married her, or had any luck getting around this issue? Perhaps living in a different house, or dismissing housecurls.... etc?

I am on the 360 platform.

I married her and moved her to Breezehome. She slept the 1st night in the bed. My character hopped in with her, and was only well rested.
She would not sleep at all after this for approx 50 game hours.

Then, purchased the home in Solitude, and waited until it was fully furnished before moving here there.
She decided to only sleep on the bedroll in the bsmt. Cannot join her since the bedroll is "occupied."
She will cook, do alchemy, give money, use all of the levels in Solitude, but will NOT sleep in the master bedroom.
I tried locking the door to the downstairs/housecarl's bedroom. She just opens it and uses the bedroll.

Has anyone had any luck getting loving comfort from her, or any suggestions on what might work for a 360 console player?
If I have to lose over 50 hrs of gameplay and remarry, are there any other known NPC's to avoid for not providing this bonus?

Done the Companions Circle questline? Beast blood prevents well-restedness.

No, haven't done that quest. Besides, I can sleep and get well rested. She is the one who will not sleep and provide the comfort "bonus."
Even the first/Breezehome and only time I was able to get in bed with her I was only well rested with no bonus.

Have you tried taking her out for a nice dinner? That's what I do.

My redguard may lose about 50 game hours in order to restart prior to marrying. Sounds like you are about to lose 50 bucks in irl.. I'll pass.

I am having same problem with Argis the Bulwark. Married my housecarl. Moved into Markarth house where we'd always been staying. He will cook, set up shop, and adventure with her. But for the first time, he is sleeping in his own little housecarl bedroom. Before, he never slept at all. Will not sleep in the master bedroom with my character, ever. So, no lover's comfort. No idea how to fix this.

Senna in Proudspire doesn't give me the Lover's Comfort bonus, nor does Aela in Hjerim. I dunno if the houses are a factor, but i've been experiencing the same bug. Can't check with Mjoll, as my khajiit who married her is a werewolf. My first character married Ysolda, and the lover's comfort worked in both Breezehome and Honeyside.

I have never received this with Ysolde either. I've not received it in Whiterun, nor when we moved to Markarth.

I cured werewolf form and receive the regular rested bonus when I sleep.

Well that's interesting, it doesn't seem the problem is with the wife then, as I was able to get the bonus with Ysolda even after curing the lycanthropy. I wonder, did you buy your house before or after you got married? On my last two characters (the bugged ones) I bought the house before getting married, so they'd have someplace to move into. On my first guy (the non bugged one) I got married first, then later on got the house and told Ysolda to move in...

Try moving into their house first. Just choose the option to stay at their place, then tell them to move into your own house.
It worked for me with Marcurio. Right after the marriage we moved into Honeyside and he wouldn't give the Lover's Comfort bonus.
Also, make sure that you don't have the Lover Stone.
