In response to people trolling about this game I just want to add my 2 cents: RAGE is a blast! Games as good as this are very few and far between. The world and concept is just fantastic and the gun play is hugely satisfying, as is the F-Zero esque racing which feels so well suited to an ID game. My only complaint is the console focus which is all fine, but as a PC gamer I'd appreciate a few more perks for the platform.

At times it feels like an interactive graphic adventure such is the superb atmosphere and art direction. It's great that the FPS genre can now foster such diversity and games such as BF3 and Rage should be able to co-exist happily because comparing them is a futile exercise. I enjoy both

For their first attempt with this new IP I think ID have done a really great job. Does nobody remember what a POS the first Gears Of Wars was? Sign me up for the sequel!

Big let down on my end. I think it is far too over hyped. I thought I was getting something that was going to blow the lid off of the way games look... but I just see PS2 graphics.

Ignore this poster. He has a fixation on how textures look up close and is letting that colour the rest of his judgement.

Why wouldnt he be? Games from 2007 have better textures than this and I am not exaggerating.

I don't think we need a RAGE 2.
I think ID should just make DLC if they want to add onto the world.

Yeah ignore me, I accidentally noticed the game looks like a boiled turd and I was totally let down after their advertising campaign informed me I was going to be buying visual gold. Mongoloid.

Im sorry msn Rage svcks, it tries to do two sepetate games and combine them into one. The graphics are ok, but the game is boring and too linear. If i wanted a racing game i would go buy Grand Torismo, Faroza, or Need For Speed. They should have made the world open and only used the cars for transpertation. They also should have put in a multiplayer shooter not trying to be like a horible version of Twisted Metal. Sorry man you would have too work fir the company to like this game boorriinngg falling asleep now.

Oh and Gears of War 1 is still by far the best in the series, ask anyone thats anygood at the game like myself, Ranked # 2 in the world Execution. Gears 2 svcked, and Gears 3 improved over Gears 2 but still not as good as Gears 1.

I personaly love the game and would love a part 2 but first, some dlc's like those of fallout 3, they really made the game last longer and replayability is an important factor.

Agree with the OP - RAGE is incredible, & visually stunning.
Gave up on Deus Ex - now that is a seriously over-hyped game which does have PS2 graphics - and no textures at all - and went back for more RAGE!

Game looks unfinished and crappy. And no one is getting banned for calling someone a mongoloid because their precious language filter allows it. And referring to people as peanut brains for seeing all the blurry, nasty, jagged, blocky ugliness of the textures just makes you look like a pompous knuckle dragger. I have screen shots upon screen shots of nasty textures with the settings maxed out. You can not argue with facts. End of story. But yeah, as long as you are 20 feet away from something and out in the desert, it looks purty. Yay.

I hated BF3, thought it was a load of crap and a waste of money but i didnt go on their forum to [censored] and complain, It was a bad game IMO so i sold it and left it at that, so just let it go and move on, its clear to everyone else you are here simply to bash the game and anoy those that like it becouse you are dissapointed, grow up.

Picky? It was advertised as a visually revolutionary game. Instead it looks 7 years old except for the NPC's.

Man, im not trying to start a fight, im not going to keep going over things becouse clearly it makes no difference.

Yeah, your entitled to your opinion but you gotta understand that not everyone sees the game as having 7 year old graphics/ visuals. The way you talk its like anyone who dosnt agree is a moron, a fan boy wearing a blindfold as to not notice the flaws but its not like that. Its cool to want things improved in a game, post some constructive criticism, things that need a little work on but don't just bash the game and say its crap/boreing/short etc etc.

The best way to go about posting constructive criticism is to build the game up. Before you get to the criticism itself, focus on positives. Highlight some of the good work Id has done, Emphasize positive, solid qualities about Rage then bring the negatives to the table and what you feel needs to be worked on, what factors of the game let you down. Post in this way and people will be more inclined to listen .

1. Your only complaint is the console focus. LOL Well, the games industry is a business, businesses need money to survive and after the loss Rage took, ie....it made no profit if you calculate operating costs of 5 years versus percentage of profit. I can tell you are not a business owner or understand how the world works by your "console focused" statement.

2. Rage is fun, no doubt it is a "good" game....just not an excellent or amazing game. Its not trolling to visit a game forums site and express your satisfaction or dissatisfaction with a game. What you see is alot of people who expected better. The racing is childish and dumb, its not REAL multiplayer, the graphics aren't as amazing as we thought they would be, the loading screens and save game options are so 2005...and the ending was a 30 second long CGI video that was anti-climactic. And there are alot of other issues people had.

So, call everyone on here a troll that doesn't like the game completely and I guess i can call everyone on here loving the game a troll...dumb all around.

Sure if you have no resemblance of a life outside of the forums then yeah, go ahead, post your BS on every single section of the forum everyday, annoy the hell out of those that like the game, whatever makes you feel better.

Oh and FTR it is a real Multiplayer and a good one at that.

Finished RAGE the other day, excellent game overall, I had a few niggles but nothing really that spoilt the game in general, great stuff! Good Job id Looked great, felt Great!
I heard there was a quarter of the game cut because we may have needed another disk, is this true? and if so will that quarter be released as DLC? Hopefully on disk

Yeah the multiplayer was a leap of faith and Im sure that id was going into it knowing that it wouldn't be for eeryone, but they wasnted to offer something different. Personally asI've stated before, I love it. And there are many others who do as well. I'm not surprised there are people who don't like it, nor do I say that you should. It is quite bizare at first, but I got into it. Hopefully there will be some updates in the future that make it even better :liplick:

I will ask once again for you to show me a 7 year old game that uses unique texturing.
No one ever seems to answer this, but I trully am curious to see how anyone claiming that the graphics look dated can anwer this.

Rage actually looks better than Doom 3 up close - there's a 7-odd year-old game to compare with. The obvious exception is GUI surfaces in Doom 3, but they're not textures anyway so they don't count.

Let's make an even more valid comparison. Compare how Rage looks on typical hardware of today with how Doom 3 looked on typical hardware of it's day. Dig out that mouldy old GeForce FX 5200, fire up Doom 3, get it running at 60 FPS (just keeping the comparison valid) and let's put the two side-by-side.

You know what, I will be the first to admit that I have been a (naughty bad word) about the textures issue. But to me, I am just not satisfied with the way they look compared to the way some of the other stuff in the game looks. I am blown away by certain elements of the game, but then I get bummed out when I see others. I just wish there was a consistency to their style. I have no doubts that within a few months there will be some mods or some patches that will make this game look even more amazing. I just wish there was some sort of information about what is being worked on and when the system tools and x64 exe will be getting released.

Different things are important to different people I guess. One could likewise do a comparison of the polycount in Rage vs - say - BF 3, and see Rage coming out on top, then make derogatory comments about how BF 3 has N64-level polycount.

But what the hey - kudos for the good grace.

I have zero interest in BF3 and I really don't see why it is getting so much praise. Just another war game. Yay. ZzzZzzzZzz...
