I don't think that nVIDIA uses the term "Optimus" for any normal laptop GPUs at all, not what they are, or what they can do.
AFAIK, if it's an Optimus at all, it is only the BACK half of a GPU, and the Intel chip runs the front end all of the time. They use some other descriptive term for switching graphics when the complete GPU actually exists, the way I recall reading about it on their web site.
