Low Inteligence Dialogue?

Post » Sun Feb 13, 2011 6:20 pm

Hey all.

I've completed the main quest for the second time today and I'm eager to start my 3rd. Yeah, I know I could load an old save and keep exploring all the locations I haven't yet visited, but for me the fun is experiencing quests over again but taking a different approach to see the other outcomes. And all the special locations I might have missed are way more fun if I accidentally stumble upon them, rather than running around the wasteland with the sole purpose of finding them. They aren't random encounters if they aren't random, are they?

My first character was an average intelligence mercenary type of guy and a jack of all trades when it came to skills. My second was a genius with 10 intelligence who was great with big guns and science. And was also a smooth talker with a high speech

To keep the game interesting on my third character I want to try low intelligence. This guy will also be great with energy weapons and he will be good with his hands - such as the repair and lock picking skill.

The ONLY reason I'm considering making him low intelligence is because of the hilarious dialogue in F1 and F2 when you made such a character. I was wondering if anyone else here has tried this yet and can confirm this still exists? Even if it's something subtle where a dumb dialogue option will appear. If that is the case, is it often enough to make a low intelligence play through worth it?

Thanks :)

Yes, low intelligence does in fact change your dialogue choices to sub-intelligent grunts hahaha

so it does *change* dialogue options, rather than just adding extra ones with a [Intelligence 1/10] next to it?

It some ways, yes. Most of the time, its just a really funny statement that usually does not do much good.

I found it to be basically the comedy play through, So give it a shot, and use the "Wild Wasteland" trait as well...

Have fun..
:celebration:

P.S.
Thanks for the link to your D.C. Chronicles, they are very...... interesting... Good Work.

I find it pretty frustrating to play as a low-intelligence and low-speech character. It ends up with you having to do some very monotonous parts of quests that you could have skipped with a speech check or intelligence check in dialogue.

To each his own

I tried a game with INT 3 and quit shorty after, unless INT 1 is differnet all the dialog was exactly the same. there is stupid dialog, but its not common enough to forfeit S.P for it.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll be starting this character soon to give it a go. If anyone else would like to share their experience with a low intelligence character I'd like to hear it :)

I started a playthrough with 1 Intelligence. I started playing through the Goodsprings section and saw no stupid dialogue options at all. So I just gave up on it. It looks like the stupid dialogue is a rare occurence, and I didn't feel like sacrificing all of my skill points for something that I was hardly ever going to see.

This, except I tired it with 1., same results/ Sometime, but not often. Sad really.
