Lucky 38 Suite Improvements

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 2:28 pm

In the "holding suite" at the Lucky 38 where your companions cool their heels and you have massive amounts of storage, the terminal on the wall in the lobby where you can buy upgrades doesn't work for me. It launches the upgrade menu, but I get a visual glitch where the previous menu screen is ghosted behind the brighter purchase menu, and the purchasing mechanics don't work with the mouse, and only rarely with keyboard keys. I like the idea of being able to upgrade my "home" suite, and would like more themes as FO3 had for the Megaton house, but I'd settle for being able to buy what is provided.

Anybody else haivng trouble with this?

I'm on an old XP box with an old ATI card, playing at minimal graphics. That might contribute. OTOH, I haven' t had nearly the crashing problems others with modern rigs have reported.

A side note to the developers--could you make this Lucky 38 suite a bit brighter? It's like a cave, even with my Pipboy on. My companions are hanging out in the dark. I know there are no windows, but please patch it to be at least as bright as the suites at The Tops.

Use the computer to bring up the barter menu. While that barter menu is still there click on the "power" button to shut down the computer. Should be able to buy/sell as normal now.

Putting the cursor over the actual price of the item in the menu allowed me to select things.

I bought all the stuff in the terminal, however, did not really notice a difference in the look of my suit.... maybe I didn't look hard enough? Anyway, can't really tell you if your really missing anything because the changes are much less than "themes" in FO3.

In vegas its more like your buying items for your house than have an interior designer coming over like moria in megaton would do. You could always of bought things like the med station and work bench and they didnt change nothing and was small changes in 3 to your house

Also beware the containers next to the workbench, they aren't safe.

They've been patched (1.01) across all three platforms now.

Really? I've had stuff in those for long periods of time and nothing has happened to it. Left one I have all the ammo casings and the right one I have all the mods for guns....haven't disappeared yet.

I had the same problem once but I progressed the main THAW quest one more step and it started working. I was also able to sell abnout 8k worth of loot through the upgrade terminal also.

I'll try that, thanks.

Does anybody else get the ghost image behind the barter screen?

And is the suite very dark for everybody, or is that just my box? The brightness setting in main Controls is fine for the rest of the game world. But that suite is a cave.
