lunar weapon crafting

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 7:43 am

my orc found the lunar forge the last time i was playing,i picked up all the books around it and all the lunar weapons.i then decided to see if it can make lunar weapons,i didnt have the materials on hand but there didnt seem to be anything special written in the crafting list,do i have to disenchant a lunar weapon and then enchant my weapons myself or what, forgive me if its a really easy thing to do but i didnt have the time to really experiment with it

disenchant one of the lunar weapons; that's it. Then you can enchant any weapon to be a lunar weapon. It really is that simple. I crafted a silver lunar sword to deal with those pesky vamps, lol

Please do not post Spoilers in General.

People come to General to learn about the game without learning about what happens in the game. If they want to know about what happens, that is what the Cheats, Hints and Spoilers section is for.

Do not use quest details or location specific details related to quests/puzzles/NPCs in your posts in this section. General is for discussing gameplay and mechanics and general topics about the the game including but not limited to races, items and their use, magic, enchanting, skills, character builds, criticism, praise, funny random things that happen, places from an esthetic standpoint and and other general topics.

Use the Spoilers Section if you have to post quest details or other spoilers or a thread about the same. I will move this now.

Its not a spoiler, its a confirmation of an unfinished feature.
By the way Lunar weapons are supposed to work only when the 2 moons are on the sky, but they work any time disregarding the moons posiotions, so in the end its a double failure feature.

It would be 10x cooler if the only way to make lunar weapons was by using that forge when the moons where out :P

Calm down, sonny. This thread was orginally posted in the Skyrim General discussion. The moderator moved the thread to the spoiler section.

I think that using Vampire Dust under a moon at the Lunar Forge should allow any type of weapon crafted there to gain the enchanment as a base enchantment, that does not require a recharge, like Valdir's Lucky Dagger critcal strike boost or Wuthradd's extra damage to Elves (if the echantment actually only worked at night).

I've had them not work at times, despite being charged. Sometimes there's a moon out during the day (they don't orbit at the same speed).

The only thing bad about it is, without knowing how to make them yourself the only way to get the effect on anything better than steel weapons is to disenchant one and enchant it yourself on another. But unless you've been leveling your enchant skill, it won't be as powerful.

Its not a spoiler, its a confirmation of an unfinished feature.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is a way to do it, but we just haven't figured it out yet.
