So I made a mod...

...involving a helmet that adds +4 to Strength, +6 to Endurance, +80 to both Unarmed and Melee, but -6 to Intelligence, -4 to Perception and -80 to Guns. I made it after tinkering with the GECK and then I added to my game. After playing for a few hours I decided to go wander off and test the helmet I had in my inventory. I worked, but when I took it off, all of the negative attributes remained! How do I reset this? As it stands, I have 1 INT and 1 PER along with a 0 in guns (even though I maxed it out!). Restarting the game without the mod enabled still leaves me with these negative status effects. Adding SPECIAL/skill points via the console doesn't seem to work either. Oh, and my Pip-Boy says that there are no status effects currently active.

What should I do?

i would personally go into the command console and try resetting your character... I cant name it off the top of my head, but i'm sure it can be found here:

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_console_commands

It'll take you to level one, i think its the resetXP command but i'm not sure, but no big deal, just give your self the level you originally had, or whatever think you had... or whatever you think you should have had...

If its something in the game, it should fix its self upon level up.

If this fails, try making an item that permanently adds to the stats in question.

Thanks; I scoured the link, but I didn't find any command to reset my level. I also forced a level up through the console, but it didn't fix anything. The problem is I have a little negative sign next to perception and intelligence on my pip boy (along with a bunch of my skills) even though it says no status effects are present. I'm kind of stumped on how to fix this...

Your previous saves are unaffected tho, right? Could always take the svck rout and re-do some work...

No, they're not. I had the item in my inventory for a while before I noticed, and I was only using 3 save files at a time, so every file I have is effected by this bug.

So here's a bit more info (it's quite strange): I played a little more with my pip boy saying I had an Int of 1 (effectively), and I ended up getting the dumb dialog options, yet when I hit level 12 I received the appropriate amount of skill points (10+5 [I have an INT of 9]). it also claims I have an effective perception level of 1 (supposed to be 5), but I'm still able to detect enemies via the compass long before they are in my view (like it was till at 5). Furthermore, it also says I have a 0 in Guns (I put 100 points into it), but when I use any guns (especially my sniper rifle) I still have nearly perfect accuracy and damage.

This is very odd and I'd like to know if anyone here has encountered anything similar with FO:NV or FO:3. It'd be much appreciated.
