Mafia 2

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 5:05 am

So I have been thinking of getting Mafia 2 lately, and I recently played the demo for it and I thought it was fun. Without spoiling anything, is the story good and is there alot to do in the game?

There's only really the story in Mafia II. Its not GTA, the city isnt filled with a lot of other stuff that you can muck around with.

Mafia II's world is only really there to add a sense of size to the world. All you do in it is drive back and forth between the missions.

Truth is, there's not a whole lot to do in Mafia 2 besides the storyline. What you've played in the demo is pretty much it. The story is really good though, and I'd still recommend buying the game. It's good. But don't expect a GTA level of freedom.

Personally I found the story to me better than the one in GTA IV.

If I where you I would find a nice price for the game, then buy it.

its good for single player. i think the replay value would have drastically increased after the campaign if they would of added a multiplayer free roam type of gameplay or some sort of mafia wars element.

No, its way too linear. Plus the story is cliche and boring. Rinse repeat combat, etc...

I'd rent it, if I were you. There isn't much point in owning the thing other then playing through the storyline once. Good for the story, not a whole lot of replay value.

I wouldn't pay more than 20$ tops for it. It's an 8-10 hour game, longer with DLCs. I'm probably gonna get it once it drops more in price.

It's an ok game, but I liked the first game noticeably more as it got a much more interesting story and missions. There isn't really anything to do in Mafia 2 besides the main story. While you can drive around as you please, there's no point in doing so.

Depends on how much you're paying for it. Because it definitely wasn't worth the $50 I paid. Something like $20 would be a good price.

It's a good game, It does have some memorable moments, it's just very short, which annoyed me since the developers didn't have any problems throwing around with DLC. I wouldn't recommend paying full price but if you can find it cheap, absolutely.
