Mage Armor doesn't work now?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 9:05 pm

I posted this in hardware but got no reply so I thought I'd have better luck in general....

(First let me say I play on Xbox.) I've started a new character to play dawnguard and I've managed to work him up to around level 30. I play as a pure mage with no armor. I was looking in the menu once I picked the Mage Armor perk, which should give me 2x my armor rating for a spell like stoneflesh when wearing no real armor. Stone flesh is rated 60 point of armor so with the perk it should be 120 armor rating but it still says 60? I tried taking off all items and I'm still rated 60 naked? I tried reloading nothing. I loaded an old level 44 mage I had and he has the same problem.... Is this just my console going bad or has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

Also I will add when I played my last level 44 mage I know I remember his armor was 120... could this have gotten messed up in the last update?

I'm checking the active effects in the magic page which says 60.... I just checked my inventory page and it says my armor is 120? So which one is right?

It wont say it specifically in the active effects menu. Check your armor rating in the armor screen. If the perk is working correctly, you should have 120 armor in your apparel screen.

the inventory page displays your armor rating (120) the magic page displays the spell info, i'd say the perk is working

Yep, sounds like. There are a lot of active effects that don't show up in your magic screen. Like Prowler's Profit. It doesn't show up in my active effects, but I still collect mounds of gems
