Ideas for my last few points? Planned to go four points into destruction for Lightning Damage + the finisher for it.

Trying to decide between dual casting and dual wielding, not too sure though.

How often would I dual wield weapons? =/ I imagine Spell + Sword in hand slots would what I'd use most, so I'll remove those points.

Will probably be what I choose. Still have around 7 points left to spend though =/ Not sure if Conjuration + Sneak really go together. I'd love to do archery aswell, but if I did I would probably use the bound bow spell.

Aren't Archery + Destruction together kind of pointless though? I can't imagine there will be synergy between the two.

Thoughts?

I haven't played since release, almost finished NV And would like to move on to Skyrim again.

I use illusion alot here. Synergy with destruction, crowd control if things go awry, etc.' also silent casting...

My bow assassin focused on alchemy and not destruction....Destro and archery don't make sense to me without alchemy *shrug*

Actually that's not bad. Illusion spell aspect of terror(?) Works with Fire spells, so I could go for a fire mage instead. Would also be good for crowd control since it causes enemies on fire to flee.

Could go for that, or just remove lightning from the equation. Though I really dislike the master fire spell, and there aren't as many creatures resistant to lightning as compared to fire. Taking both would be a good idea.

Duel Casting for Destruction worth it? I've heard that without poisons for weakness to magicka/elemental type the cost of the spell just isn't worth it for the 10-20% Extra damage. But the stagger effect seems to good to pass up.

I plan on getting around 75-80% reduction in spell casting for destruction. 100% seems silly and overpowered, and with 80% I imagine I'll have plenty of left over Magicka for other spells.

I am actually perked pretty heavily into Illusion.

You're gonna be a Magissassin I think you're gonna need illusion. Illusion will amp up your stealth capabilities, and you can potentially assassinate targets without putting yourself at risk. Example: Casting Fury/Frenzy on the target from hiding, and let the guards/bystanders do the dirty work.

I do think you should choose between Destruction, and Archery though. I think having both is a bit redundant. Which one? I use destruction, but archery is great too. The choice is up to you.

Edit: Also you might want to invest more in Illusion.

Is there any way to attack an enemy with a spell (with silent casting and high Sneak) and go undetected, or is hitting an enemy with magic pretty much an instant "Here I am!"? I'd like to chain cast runes on baddies from the shadows, but I was curious if it was even possible (and therefor worth the time to make the build)?

I wish you could stealth kill with magic. that would be sweet. But magic pretty much announces your presense to the world when you attack. But mages like daggers so keep one of those handy, apply perks to sneak for x6 damage multiplier... slice their throats.

I am confused, what's showing up for you guys? I have the entire right side of the tree perked into for Illusion.

I enjoy destruction, it's a lot of fun. I just love the idea of a Bound Bow Mage too lol =/ So I'll RP a Hunter/Mage next playthrough!

Taking perks and increasing your skill in Stealth, Archery and Destruction at the same time is not really a waste in my experience. I don't take many in Archery on my current mage character, but it's still nice to open up with a 3x stealth shot with a poisoned bow. Switch over to some long range destruction when enemies start closing in, and finally we get to dual casting when up close. Works great for me, although I am using mods that make Destruction damage actually viable and scale wtih skill level so ymmv if you're on a console.

Well you probably shouldn't use Bound Bow. When you cast it, it will cancel invisibility.

I'd assume invisibility uses would be closer range than I would use a bow anyways. Bow would be for hunting, sniping, stealth kills from a distance. Whereas Invisibility gives me an edge for getting close with a dagger.
