I need to enter the mages college of Winterhold.

So I started talking to the [censored] outside. She told me to use the spell "fireball". When I do she's set on fire because she's standing one [censored] metre away from the "eye-platform" & says that she's being attacked. It's just a matter of time before the guards starts to attack me as well.

I also tried a different approach: to blow her away with unrelenting force. But it still doesn't work, even though nobody's? set on fire!

Please. Desperate dude needs help.

LOL you're supposed to cast fireBOLT, not fireBALL! Firebolt doesn't have an area of effect, and won't hurt her when you zap the rune on the ground.

PS Reload a save, and she might ask you to cast a different spell that doesn't involve blowing something up.

The spell to use is randomized every time. If you have an earlier save (save early and often, the golden rule of PC gaming), you can try again with a different spell.
