Magic Candles?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 5:07 am

Am I the only one who wonders who's lighting all the candles in the 'ancient' tombs and borrows in the game?
Are they magic candles that stay lit over the many 1000s of years?
Also, FOOD in the tombs? how can it still be good and who of you eat it? lol

The torches on the wall have been burning for thousands of years, but if you pick one up, it goes out in 2 minutes.

Typically if bandits/necromancers/ect are about (and in many cases they are) I blame them as they were exploring/looting the whole way. If ghosts are about I blame them for candles and torches as they are just giving in to old habits.

If its just Draugr's well... I have no idea.

I think draugr don't like to sleep in the dark. They're always renewing the torches. But surely they have 1k years old eternal burning coal in theirs coal things...

I would say the food is plastic. But I only saw FOOD in draugr dungeons near necromancer/etc places. So, I think it's necromancy.

I thought that too, but then they are bad at looting since most chests/urns still have at least some gold in them.

On that note, has anyone else noticed that when you are sent BACK into a borrow, etc. the things you picked up or chests you cleaned out have more stuff in them again?
I'm thinking it's another glitch. for example. I stumbled across an Argonian way up north on a small island and when a bear attacked and killed him I took his statue of Dabela(sp?)
Later during a DB task I was sent to kill him, his statue was there and I grabbed it again expecting to have two.
When I got back to my house in Whiterun and went into my inv, it wasn't there. So then WHY was it there at his camp?

I honestly don't mind the small glitches like this for such an AMAZING game. :)

john, i dont realise if anybody has said this to you yet, but welcome to the forums-heres your fishystick

anyway, i think-and im not trying to ruin the fun-that there is NO exsplanation, its just how the developers made it-

however lets speculate- now the best exsplnation for the candels/torches would be magic, some of the dragur can even use magic, so its perfectly possible, now as to the food, maybe the dragur need sustanance and either steal food or have magic to replenish it-or (and after doing the MQ this wouldnt surprise me) maybe the thalmore have set up in all the burrows to investigate the dragons....SPOILER: because they dont know what was ausing the dragons returning...

thanks for posting on my posts! enjoy your fishystick!
