Magic Menu Glitch

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 9:30 pm

It seems that whenever I specifically select "Magic" on the main menu, the game immediately freezes and becomes unresponsive. The saves affected are all after I killed a randomly spawned dragon near Drelas' Cottage, and I really don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Really? No one? Come on, I know I'm not the only one with this problem.

I'm having the exact same problem....this svcks. It's not just here and there either, it's every time I try to access the magic menu. You can maybe try clearing your cache but that didn't work for me.

All the menus freeze up on me constantly. If I wait they will usually come around after a minute, but a lot of times I have to back out two or three times to get them working.

I can't go back in the menu to try again :( As soon as I select magic from the menu and press the button, it completely freezes my xbox.

I was fortunate, as it turns out, as I have a backup save from only an hour earlier that apparently was not affected by the glitch. My only assumption is that in my case, either going to Drelas' Cottage or encountering the dragon was what triggered the glitch. That's really all I got out of this, avoid that area of the map and make a million backup saves just in case - the second half of which I already learned from New Vegas, which I still consider to be the hallmark of poorly tested games.

I had the same issue. I believe it happens because your save becomes corrupt. The only way to fix it is to load a previous save that is not corrupt.

I played around with it for a bit and was able to re create the freeze by eating over 60 food items. This caused the magic menue to freeze the game every time.
