I don't know what is is, but whenever I try to open my inventory, the magic menu, or buy something from someone, I get an instant CTD. I don't understand this... it's never happened before. I've disabled all mods, removed all mod related things, and it still crashes.

Also, I'm also getting a crash when I try to exit a custom made location. No matter where I put the outside location's door... CTD every time I try to exit the place.

I'm reinstalling at the moment, but I doubt that will do anything.

Reinstalling did nothing, as I thought.

I have the same problem, but only with the magic menu. I think it has something to do with the 1.4 patch as it wasn't happening before.

Same issue with the magic tab, pisses me the right off.

The game is nearly unplayable without these functions... The next patch better fix this.

I don't like the trend that seems to be appearing. When I had few playing hours I had no crashes whatsoever. But when I got to level 35-ish the game started to crash a few times and it has just gotten worse after that. I keep reading that making a new game fixes crashes, but just like you I don't want to make a new game either. I just want to continue with my character the way he is.

Bethesda really should look into this long term play issue, because it is an issue, and it's serious!

Or we could of course make a note of all perks, skill levels, items collected, quests done, people killed and so on, an then make a new game and use console commands to get to the same position/level in the new save. But how can we use console to register all the places we have been and cleared? Someone should make a tool/mod for all this. Maybe someone already has?

Edit: It could of course also be something with the latest patches for the game. I see many people started to experience crashes after the 1.4 patch. Sigh!

The game is pretty much unplayable right now, unless you count running around and talking to people and killing things.

have you tryed useing SKYUI menu's replacer from ether steam workshop or skyrimnexus it needs skse installed to work from http://skse.silverlock.org/

Brilliant, that fixed it! I had SKYUI back when the game actually worked but I got rid of it because it could never detect SKSE, which it still can't, or at least it says it can't, but it fixes the crash, nevertheless.

Wait, so SKYIU actually fixes a bug? Hmmm, and I thought I would disable it to see if it causes crashing. Go figure.
Although I have a suspicion that it is my savegame that is somehow broken because of some ini edits I tried a long time ago.

you have copyed the files from the skse archive into the main game folder not the data folder ? (I did this my self)

Same exact issue for me - TAB, click magic menu, then CTD.. same result with P hotkey. I rolled back to an archived save 3 levels back, which resolved the issue, but unfortunately I have lost those 3 levels (could be worse from other posts I've read..). I suspect a bugged item or new spell I acquired between lvls 46 and 49 corrupted my save file, but I am not certain. I've tried all the suggested fixes (e.g. let food buffs wear off, fast travel, learn new spells, etc.) but nothing seems to work except rolling back to a save that is uncorrupted. Any suggestions welcome. In the meantime, I will put in a support ticket which will likely get me nowhere.

Did a stealth mini-patch go out today, because I'm having the exact same problem. I went through the whole reinstall SKSE, SkyUI, validate my cache, etc. It turned out that something happened to a save, and apparently got worse over time. I went back 6 "hard" saves, and the game is no longer crashing.

What I'm worried about it it happening again...

I just opted into the Skyrim Beta for the hell of it to see if it would fix the issue. Turns out, it did. If you've exhausted all efforts trying to resolve this issue, give this a shot - worked for me.
