magicka regen while casting ?

i came upon this weird thing yesterday. Didn't last but i wish it had.

So while i was holding my spells my mana would still go up ( where usually when u hold on spells in ur hands it doesn't )

i saw about only 1 post on this on google and the guy was complaining it's game breaking ( lol ? )

i did the college quest with the focal points but didnt knew about the regen bug and went doing city quests so i know for a fact it's not related to that. anyone knows if it's a disease or something ?

it really happened out of nowhere and disapeared just as so :/

imo magicka not going up simply because the spell is focused but not casted is ridiculous :/

I think it's meant to prevent people from "pre-casting" a big ass nuke and holding it (Something that uses alot of magicka, like a Dual Cast Thunderbolt), then opening a fight with it while still at full magicka.
Another reason why Bretons are better Mages than Altmer. An Altmer can pop his Highborn ability, but he ceases to regen magicka when charging a spell. A Breton though can pop Dragonskin, and still absorb Magicka from hostile spells while charging a spell.

i think the anti- pre-casting is a suitable explanation. makes lot of sense. Loose some when you take a look at how OP are 1h weapon bonus VS destruction magick dmg tho -.-

but i guess that up to this point it is for bethesda to decide. hopefully expansions will work towards that aspect of magick users,

However i don't see why this makes breton better magick users ( nor how this is related to my topic, altho i didn't say it at first but i'm playing altmer ).

'' An Altmer can pop his Highborn ability, but he ceases to regen magicka when charging a spell. ''
He doesn't ceases at that point to regen is mana while casting, it never worked in the first place, so that's not a negative point,

Both class can get the permanent 30% magicka absorb perk since it's part of a skill tree, thus making the breton special ability less useful anyways so i don't think you have valids arguments there mate :/

I was going for the WR helm quest in the north, did some exploring when i saw this happen. might be related to the magcik drain condition altho i can't bet on that nor say how it is obtained.

I'd sure like to find a way to use this feature in a reliable way even if with 500 magicka at lvl 40, i can spit out a whole bunch of firebolts :P
