Main Quest doesnt feel finished ... Why didnt bethesda keep

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 1:47 pm

and instead of Alduin being the cause instead he was just a dragon that also got resummoned so instead of him being the main threat he would of been a side threat (like it felt it was...)

what im tryign to say is that it should of been some overly powerful necromancer that was bringing back the drgaons and in so doing also brought back alduin meaning that Alduin should of been a mini boss that would keep comming back untill you dealt with the necromancer that brought him back

not saying teh elder scroll part should of been skipped still would of had to learn the shout but maybe instead of watching alduin travel through time you could of witnessed his 1st downfall ?

also any one else irritated that sovengard had pretty much nothing and couldnt even re enter the inn after dealing with Alduin ?

I just feel there should of been another fight after exploding Alduin in the "Dream World" as ive been calling it ...

Alduin is the Nordic god of the Apocalypse and firstborn of Akatosh who devours the souls of the dead and you want to replace him with a petty necromancer?

No such being exists and I'd have to go throw a brick at their offices in outrage if Bethesda made such a retcon (Jyggalag was more than enough for a lifetime)

What I don't get is if Alduin was the one bringing back dragons, then you kill him, there should not be an endless supply of dragons harrassing you once you return from Sovengard. Maybe a few stragglers but not more than before Alduin dies. And every one you kill should deplete the number even more. The other possiblility is that Alduin raised enough dragons to start a viable breeding stock. But then we should find eggs and baby dragons and that is not the case. In fact, the dragons only get tougher which means they are the originals that have matured.

In Oblivion, closing gates was the anologous activity to killing dragons. Once the main quest was over, the gates stopped appearing. You would think killing Alduin would accomplish the same goal in Skyrim since he was the cause of the dragon epidemic.

Maybe we should take another look at Parthaunax, he could be playing both sides.

Even after Alduin dies you are still spammed with dragons everywhere. I just killed two Elder Dragons who appeared together in Morthal. That was even a tougher battle than the one with Alduin and I was desperately trying to save all the village npcs as well!

One of the reasons I can see for still having the dragons is the Companion Quest Line and the Dragon Seeker's Quest.
