Then, I run around looking for recognition from some of the important NPCs. As I'm running through Whiterun, one of the guards says something about it....nice start. I run up to Jarl Balgruuf...and he says nothing about it. Nothing. Nothing out loud as I approach, no new conversation options....nothing.
I figure "Ok, maybe someone else will say something about it." I run to Arngeir who is still pissy about me killing Paarthunax and won't talk to me. Fine.
Surely the Blades will have something to say! So off to Sky Haven I go. I see Esbern who says to talk to Delphine because she's worried about me.
"Finally!" I think. I'm going to get some closure...someone to thank me for stopping the apocalypse. She gives one line of spoken dialogue about it and then.....no new conversation options. No "there's still much to do in the world" speech. No "the Blades will now do _______"...... Nothing. No closure.
As a last ditch effort, I go back to Esbern. He also gives one spoken line of dialogue before the conversation and then....no new topics.
It's a small complaint, I realize this. But I tend to play RPGs as if they were an interactive story book. The story is so much more important to me than graphics or physics...and I just kind of feel let down by the lack of closure at the end of the game.
In Morrowind, Azura visits you, gives a "you've done it!" speech and gives you a ring. Then you can go back to Vivec who will talk to you about how there is still much to do for the people of Morrowind and all that. I got closure there. I was congratulated for saving the world and recognized for it.
Same in Oblivion. Save the day, get named Champion of Cyrodiil by Ocato....you get closure. Recognized for saving the day.
But in Skyrim...none that I could find. I just killed Alduin...the bleeping "World Eater!" I stopped the motherbleeping apocalypse! But no one will recognize this fact!
Does anyone else feel this way or am I just crazy? Am I missing something perhaps? Someone I should have talked to for a little closure?
