Major fps problem regardless of settings. : V

Hello, fellow PC gamers.

There are alot of people who have some serious performance issues with Skyrim, many of which
can be fixed with tweaking the .ini and/or user made patches and such. I, however, are experiencing
severe performance issues regarding fps no matter on what settings I play the game.

I've never played past the very beginning of the game. This
is because I have a constant fps of about 4 to 7 or 8. I've tried playing on medium, and on low. I've
even tried the lowest settings possible, to no avail. The game persists to run at about 4-7 fps.
I understand that there are a few others who have a similar problem, but I've been told
several times that my laptop should be able to run the game on medium with decent fps.

Can you guys help me out?
Please help me out, I'm getting really frustrated over the
fact that I can't even play past the tutorial. Right now I'm just waiting for a patch to come out and
fix my problems, but can I be sure that it's not my specs that are too low for the game??? :sadvaultboy:

I can run games like RAGE at 60 fps with the occasional drop to about 40 fps.

Why isn't your dxdiag listing your Nvidia card? When you go into your game options, does it have your GPU listed as the Graphics Adapter?

No.. Uh.. In the "option" tab in the TES launcher it says that the graphics adapter is: "NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS"???????

Try 1024x768 on minimal settings, although I don't think its going to help you. You can't get around that 540m. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/video_lookup.php?gpu=GeForce+GT+540M
