Make "wait" go faster (xbox)

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 9:55 am

I found this little bug when the game came out, but figured i'd post again because its kinda useful.

if you have to wait a long period of time, and don't want to watch time fly by simply press the guide button soon as you confirm you want to wait, you will hear the clicks go by much faster.
i do this when i have to wait a few days for what ever reason

hope this helps you!

The big dome-shaped silver button in the middle of the controller.

You really shouldn't do anything to interfere with the normal wait times. It's not slow for the sake of being slow just to annoy you, it's actually running all the AI scripts and packages that need to be run for the game to work smoothly so people are where they're supposed to be and doing what they're supposed to be doing as time passes. Shortening the process in a way the game doesn't expect is likely to lead to all sorts of issues in your game at some point.

My guess is the guide button somehow pauses or reallocates processing power for rendering so there's more processing power for AI. The 360's architecture isn't exactly that of a PC. A lot of rendering is dumped on the CPU.

I tried it a little while ago. Didn't work. Tried it again, didn't work.

It kept asking if I wanted to shut down the console. So it was a no-go for me.

You only have to tap the xbox button - not hold it down. This works, I noticed it a while ago, but I've since stopped using wait altogether.
