Make your own loading screens.

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 3:28 am

You know... The stuff you can rotate and read about when the game is loading something for you.

It could be something funny, like
- The young Todd Howard, playing chess. 'Before joining Bethesda Softworks in 1994, Todd Howard was a skilled player in all manly passtimes.'

Or somethng you'd actually want to see, like:
- Dremora. 'After the Oblivion Crisis, Dremora have become less powerful and more resentful to the mortal plane.'

My submission(s):
- Loading screen shows your character as they looked when finishing a certain questline, doing something or posing in a way themed to said questline. Or maybe showing them as they looked when you reached 100 in a certain skill. And the text would either talk about your new guild rank/accomplishment or the skill you mastered, using your name.

- TES Players. One on PC, Xbox, and PS3, all playing Skyrim. By rotating them you can see what they're doing on each of their games, and it could be funny, cool or memey, whatever. The text will say 'Fans of the Elder Scrolls series are known for their resistences to all biological needs when they are entranced by Bethesda's games.'

Aw, y u no partspayt ?

Surely someone was just itching to do something easy, like a guard clutching his knee, having taken a certain projectile to it... "Ex-Adventurers have many a story to tell. Some more prevalent than you may think."

I'll do another to encourage ye:
- Scribe-looking fellow sitting at his desk with a quill and a puzzled look on his face.
"Some writers of history often ponder whether or not a single man being the leader of every faction is worth their ink."

Or even better, there should just be a loading bar.

Where'd the classic loading bars go? New useless Skyrim loading screens for the loose.

Loading bars vanished becaue they were never accurate, they'd speed through one section then snail crawl through another. It was never a judge of how long it was going to take.

Wolf

"Skyrim's wolves are feral and will attack anything be it animal or man but it's really just an excuse to make Skyrim a more dangerous environment"

Come on Bethesda! I'm attacked by wolves every 2 minutes and I didn't even provoke them!

I still liked them. 100% better than what we have right now. I'd rather have a blank loading screen than what we have right now.

I'm guessing essential NPCs kneeling, but not dying?

Like just a big group of them and the Dragonborn is just hacking away at them to no effect :{D~

Got a chuckle:

- Alchemist trying to mix a potion using a daedra heart and sabre cat teeth, face red with effort
"The school of alchemy is one of daring experimentation and massive trial and error."

- Shirtless man with two-handed weapon and quiver of arrows on his back, looking at one of his shoulders with a rasied eyebrow
"The magnetism between weapons and the back has been one of Nirn's greatest mysteries, but there are few who think about it."

"Chaurus are subterranean insectoids. They will eat your face."

"The worship of Talos has been banned, and he has been replaced as a god. By the real gods of Skyrim, bandit chiefs."

[Picture of a roulette wheel] "You think this is a long loading screen."

"Bleak Falls barrow holds a dark secret. You can't help going there, no matter how much you want to avoid the bloody place."

"The denizens of Skyrim's dungeons are as practical and sensible as the Nords above, and often keep a copy of 'The yellow book of riddles' next to the toilet. Perfect for whiling away the effects of that horker curry."

"The Eye of Magnus may or may not be a Kinetically-Interlinked Nirnian Multi-User Exoform from the 9th era. Those gits at the Psiijic offered this on the subject : 'No comment, you are not ready'. "
