Making a Character like the Skyrim Trailer Dragonborn

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 1:15 pm

I'm pretty new to Skyrim and I have been thinking about my first warrior character and I thought it would be fun to make it similar to the Dragonborn character that's in the Skyrim Trailer. I want to make a main character that does the main quest since I haven't tried it.

I was wondering what everyone thinks this character would be like. Would he be more good or bad? What would his skills/attributes be? What guilds would he join? What side would he take in the civil war? And all those kind of questions.

I would also like to create him in the character creation class but I don't know how as I've never been good with those sliders.

It say's on the wiki: "Skyrim's trailers and concept art depict the Dragonborn as a male Nord with brown hair and a short beard, wearing an Iron Helmet, Studded Armor, Iron Gauntlets, and Iron Boots. In one gameplay trailer, the Dragonborn uses a Steel Sword and a Banded Iron Shield, but in another he dual wields a Steel Sword and a Steel Dagger."

Here are some pics that I think would make good character creation:

I won't make him wear exactly what he wears in the trailer as it would be very hard especially when I like to play on Master. I was thinking of focusing on Light Armor but maybe Heavy, I just can't decide since he wears a mix. I am thinking Sword and Board as I want to be able to block and I don't really like Dual Wielding much.

I am thinking something like this:
Name: Dragonborn (I don't know if I will call him something else)
Attributes: 1:1 Health:Stamina or 2:1 Health:Stamina - I'm too indecisive that I can't decide on anything haha.
Skills: One-Handed, Block, Light or Heavy Armour, and maybe Smithing (I haven't tried it before).

I don't know what perks are good/worth getting and what perks aren't worth getting in the skill trees as I haven't played much.

Thanks for the help.

it's actually easy just make sure your default race is Nord, change the color of the eyes to blue, and change the color of hair to brown

I think the first Nord Preset would be nice for that Trailer Dragonborn.
and i think he would not take any side in the civil war,And I think you should use these skills mostly
-Light Armor,One handed,Block, speech, restoration (dont know why but i thinkit would be cool) and heavy armor. But well choose whatever you want :) what feels best for you.Enchanting would be cool too,You should enchant the whole set of that armor he is using in the trailer and name it "dragonborns Armor" andmaybe smithing skill.
Good luck! and by guilds i dont know D:

Are you gonna stick with the standard Dragonborn armour too? The one you see in the trailers, I mean. Anyways, I'd go with One-Handed, Block, Light Armour (besides the Iron Helmet, everything else appears to be Light Armour), with maybe Smithing, Speech, Sneak or whatever as a filler. 2:1 Health:Stamina should be fine for a warrior-like character. Since you're a Nord I think the Stormcloaks would be the side to pair with, though you can have your reasons for the Imperials too. Since the Companions seem closest to a warriors-guild. The other guilds seem a bit distant, if you ask me. Anyways, good luck with creating your Dragonborn :)

In the post I said it might be too hard to wear the same armour as I play on Master. And he's only wearing one piece of light armor, Studded Armor, the rest is Iron.

I said in the post I would probably not wear the same as armor as him because I play on Master. I also said in the post what he was wearing haha.

This sounds like a good character to play as. I don't understand the alignment as I don't play DnD and I don't know how to make your character look like the Trailer Dragonborn.

Thanks. That's exactly how I want to play. The hardest thing for me now is trying to create him. I used Default Nord 1, First shaped eyes (left side), default colour was blue, Third beard (from left), Brown hair before black color, and the default hair for this preset, quite long (sort of down to shoulders) next to the braided version.

I reccomend using Hide boots and Hide bracers instead of Iron, I prefer light over heavy. And if you want to make a more, uh, badass I guess you'd say, version, try all scaled but with the ancient Nord helmet.

This is a perfect description. The hardest decision is to go Heavy or Light Armour.

Default 1, but maybe brown hair (the shade right before it turns black).

He might be one step thinner too. If not, it looks cooler anyways.

I'm also playing a stereotypical Dovahkiin, but the presets disgust me. For that reason, I spent a good 45 minutes in the character creator trying to create a look-alike of Aragorn.

If you can make someone like that, more power to you. I can't. Nords just don't have realistic enough noses. There's like two, one's a little puggish, and the other needs it's length all the way down, and it still has a big crook on the bridge. Looks good if facepaint covers it though.

The one that requires you to put the length all the way down, I know exactly the one. That's the only nose I ever use on Nord male characters, because without full nose customization, it's the only one that I can get to look any good.

I have to try that nose. I still haven't started my Nord because I was spending forever trying to get the perfect nose haha.

When you're asked "Who are you?" at the start of the game, just hit continue. Wham-bam generic Nord Dragonborn.

I went with the darker brown hair which is in between the dark black/red/brow (left side) and the dark black (right side). Hard to decide if he had a light or darker brown hair.
For the eyes I went with the first ones on the left side. And the mouth I left as the Default Nord 1. I think it is the first one on the right side. I also left brows how they were.

Now I am stuck on the nose. So hard to get a good one.

The jist of alignment.

But on the topic of trailer Dragonborn characters, J'derras does not like to play as the trailer Dragonborn because it just isn't original. I prefer to play my own characters. If you want to play as the trailer Dragonborn, I would suggest including whatever skills Todd used in the demonstration, such as a little destruction and restoration.

Sounds an awful lot like how I play my classic sword and board, honorable warrior-type. It needs some more flavor to be "thé Dragonborn RP build!".

I would change the name from "Prisoner" to "Dovahkiin".

I was trying to make warrior today but I ended up struggling on choosing a nose for my Nord. This is why I didn't start with a warrior. I couldn't decide on a nose so I made an Archer/Assassin haha.
