So, I am making some new spells, and have grown tired of the rather limited effects in the game. Anyone know of a good place to start in order to make a new NIF for a spell effect?
I have never made a model before, so obviously I will have to go through many hours of practice to even learn how to use Blender or 3DS Max, but I was hoping maybe there is some tutorial out there that talks about importing/exporting a spell effect into one of these programs from Skyrim, so I could have a place to start.
Any tips? If you know how to model, how did you first get started?
The problem with this is that neifher NifTools exporters are able to export particle systems at all!
There are only two exporters I know of that can export particle systems and one is mine that I do NOT share period, and the other is the CivIV Exporter and using this exporter requires some kind of converter to upgrade the nif files from CivIV to Skyrim's format.
The only real option for you to do this is to manipulate Bethesda's Particle System's and add/remove parts to create different effects, lucky for you Particle System's are very malleable.
