Making your own companion?

Is there any way to make your own companion with the geck or by the console? I just want a low maintenance companion that will follow me and fight, thats all, none of the other bs.

Basically what I want is a drone to follow me, no other baggage. Like having to tell them to wait, and having to listen to them repeat the same dialogue over and over and over and over again. I'm fed up having to reload saves because a companion dies.

I said ages ago(before NV even came out)that aswell as dedicated companions there should be generic mercs you can hire like in freeside.

You guys do not want companions, you want to be able to dual-wield pistols and machetes and stuff because all you care about is the free damage you get from them?

I'm confused. You not only want them to be boring as hell, you also want to rid yourself of the ability to give them tactical orders while avoiding the consequences of playing in hardcoe mode? I think you, sir, may be playing the wrong game.
