Makshift Graves

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:53 pm

As I was exploring the tundra; an imperal attacked me out of the blue, I sighed and drew my Daedric Greatsword (Legendary) but after a few moments I found out it was a good struggle, nearly died twice. After I put him down with a forwards power strike I drug him over to rock and made him a small memorial for him.

Has anyone made a grave or memorial for someone whom you vanquished? Tell me and if you can tell me how I can keep the stuff from being misplaced or blown away x_x

Can't say I have. I have no sympathy for the dead, especially when they're trying to kill me first haha. I usually resurrect them to make them suffer more hehe.

When Tolgar (? - could be horribly wrong there) the wanderer was killed by 2 bandits in the rift I made him a sort of memorial, I propped him up against a nearby tree with his sword at his side. I felt genuinely sad, I had saved his ass from bears and sabre cats and even a dragon before when I had encountered him, and then he just died because I didn't see him fighting them quickly enough.

I make little burials for all killed travelers I find, and I also did for the old orc. (Rest his soul)

I never do it for those who attack me, unless they're draugr bosses or dragons (they can't help it). I have the habit of putting one nord mead and some relevant kind of flower in the pockets of those for whom I do it 'though. I gave up on putting it neatly next to the body, it practically always gets 'blown away'. Plus, it clutters the world, and as far as I've heard that can create some extra lag for the game ...

When my trusty feline companion died I made a small memorial for him, but then I remembered I can just reload my previous autosave and send him back to the college before he becomes another Falmer victim.

When Lydia died I dragged her body into an empty dragon burial mound, then lit the whole thing up with Wall Of Fire.

I most certainly did, and to my amazement, it has somehow lasted in my game for some 400+ hours of gameplay! It is more a monument to an event, rather than honoring the vanquished.

I made a small monument to the Battle of Whiterun, a heroic defense of the city by its guards and Imperial forces against the treacherous Stormcloack rebellion. The monument actually marks the furthest point to which the attackers advanced during the battle.
The heroic defenders were able to keep them out of the city proper, which saved every single civilian life in the city. It's still in my game, and it reminds me every time I pass it of the battle which was 5 real life days into the game. Being my first TES game, a very memorable moment indeed.

As I was http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/614970636795737411/41FD6919E7B7FFA46DC4B84F55AE096BB3AA71E8/ of dead Stormcloacks after the battle for burning, I must've taken one of their helmets off. I'm not really sure. Anyway, I managed to clip (perhaps the reason it's stayed all this time) this one Stormcloak helmet into the stones near the main gate of Whiterun. Literally only feet away from where the most advanced attacker fell. It has stayed there ever since, a solemn reminder to the bloodshed caused by that treasonous upstart.

I've killed that guy probably 50 times.
