male - female slider

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:14 am

isliders think it was demon souls that had one of these ... it let you slide it to make a more feminine man, or perhaps a more masculine female (didn't try that). I'd like to see this brought to skyrim. As a less masculine guy, I have a hard time embracing my rather brutish skyrim persona...but then again I get a bit caught up in the aesthetics.

Honestly I'd just like to play a guy that doesn't look like he's 45+ years old (Heck I can do that in real life). There are several female pre-sets that look 20-30 years old, but all the guys just look way too old. I want to play some young guy, about 25, just starting out on adventuring.

For PC there are mods, but they affect every male in the game, not just the PC.

Nah, it should be done with other sliders - muscle for a start, and then a greater variety of facial bone structure.

We desperately need muscle and age sliders, though.

I thought the weight slider change muscles? I haven't tried to make a male character yet, though. Females get broader shoulders and dd-cups by increasing the weight slider, but they still have slim hips and waist, that annoys me (who tried to create a female with a normal body the other day...).

I totally agree on the age slider, btw

Only to an extent. It's impossible to create a fat character, or a skinny one.

We don't need this. Ru Paul would not survive in Skyrim; however Rosie O'Donnell would. Not everything is for everybody.

Plus, the elves look effeminate enough already.

Hey!

It's been a while since I started a new character - I could've sworn there was an age slider.

There's an age slider in Oblivion and in Fallout New Vegas. Not in Skyrim, though.

Was it the complexion setting? I know something made my chick look more haggard as I moved it to the left.

Of course Ru Paul would survive in Skyrim. She has a 100 in Illusion! :D

I prefer more effinate elves. The Bosmer men look like they are all pro wrestlers. The Dunmer look like Neanderthals. I would almost be tempted to play a male character if I could make someone who looks like http://ignore56.deviantart.com/art/Sephiroth-s-Loreal-advert-183913460, or http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQu37XiTvO0FPDtRUx87L-3pZTjmdaX4cZqvMIoBlgZy9_PbKe7IYOzzek5

There is no age slider, but there is a complexion slider that basically ages you up with wrinkles.

This can make you look older ... much older. Or maybe even give you those pot marks on your face that everyone loves. But it doesn't smooth out the default wrinkles that males have.

OK, so the males already look over 30 then? It's been even longer since I made a male and I never want them to look boyish so I probably didn't linger the complexion slider at the far left for very long when I was creating the character.

They look over 40 actually. I wish I could find one that looks 30.

I'd like to create a teenager. It'd be perfect for one of my roleplay ideas. Alas, another of the impossible things - and I don't really see why, it's not unusual for a 15 year old boy to pick up a sword and join the war, especially if he belongs to a traditionally warrior nation.

Well, since we can strip our characters down to their underwear I wouldn't hold my breath waiting to be able to create a character under the age of 18...probably 25 to be on the safer side. :P

For PC, there are various mods which "youth" the males. You can get them to look early 20s. I think someone was working on a "teenager" mod a while back, but I haven't checked lately - just got my machine back a bit ago, so kinda behind.

Lol. I never thought of that. But I still don't see it, all I'm asking for is a young face, the body model will be the same for everyone anyway

I know about the mods - they're not an answer to everything, especially with a multi-platform title. Certain features need to be included in the core game, otherwise Bethesda could just release the CK and an empty world and wait until the modders build the whole game themselves. Not exactly what I'd expect from a game developer.
Of course, all of this is more "it'd be nice to have it" than "Skyrim is worthless without it". So for now, mods will have to suffice.

Of course, but it's the implication that the character could be 16 (or some other age less than 18, but with secondary sixual characteristics). Remember that a corporation's #2 goal is to not be sued.
