First I want to say that I really love this game. Fallout 3 was my all time favorite and played it for over 300 + hrs.
I think this game could be better than that butt:

Since I have been playing (around 13 hrs now) my game has froze up about 10 times now.
Last night it even froze during a save which corrupted my save file so I have to start my
game over.. This has happened twice now and now I'm starting to get pissed.

Also there is a freeze up in the frame rate every couple of minutes and its starting to
get really annoying.

When the game freezes up I have no control over my system so I have to shut off the console
and restart the game. This is not my console cause no other game I have does this.

I hope they can fix this issue soon. Can't keep playing this if its going to do this all the time.

Its odd because it seems there is a small extreme where people are either experiencing it almost repeatedly and yet there are some who have had one in 20 hours - which is still a fault I should point out. I'm on your side too, not as bad as 10 but I am curious as to what your system is? I currently use a 120GB PS3 Slim. I know this isn't in any way helpful but I wonder if there is a correlation with the quantity of crashes and the system used.

I have the same problems too. I use the AT Version and i′ve stop playing the game. I hope that they can solve the problem soon

Mine has yet to freeze in 10 or 11 hours of play even once. I have an 80 gig model (the second run, not the BC one).

I am 13 hours in to my game and it has frozen around 6 times. 4 times when I try to open a door, and 2 times when I am just roaming the wasteland

the crashes start happening when your save file grows to about 4000 kb, that is why some have not experienced the crashes yet, they are not that far along in the game...

For the first 12 or so hours I played FONV it was working beautifully, no crashes and I was enjoying it like no other game I've played in a long time....

but now that my save file is bigger, about 4500 kb, it now crashes constantly and I have been unable to continue with any of the quests...

all I have to do is go into a new area or talk to an NPC and it crashes... watch your HDD light it will start flashing constantly trying to load everything and it just can't keep up...

Wow 4MB? FO3GoTY started to crash around 10MB.

Anyways, thanks guys.. that's all I needed to know because it seems to me that the same fatal flaw that haunted GoTY was left in FONV which is unbelievable and unacceptable imo. This flaw could not be patched in GoTY because it's a fundamental glitch in the game engine maybe related to the PS3 hardware. Whatever it is, I'm glad I waited not to get myself involved into this NV craze so I can still decide to acquire it for my PS3 or not. I guess my decision will be the latest. I'm not buying a pig in a poke.

That is the same problem I'v had except it happened to me 4 times in the first hour. I'm pissed! Please, come vote at my poll and post on the "Bethesda Doesn't Care" thread. We need to be heard.

Ya I use the 120G Slim I just got this one about 4 months ago. Replaced the original I got when the system was first released.

I thing your right about the save file thing. Yesterday my save file hit almost 4000 kb and now it is starting to freeze during
the saves on a regular basis. It is getting extremely frustrating now to the point were I don't even want to play the game....
Its a shame too cause I really like the game.....

Hope they read these forums and find a fix to this problem soon or this will be shelved when COD comes out...
