Married Uthgerd the Unbroken

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 12:03 am

I wanted to marry someone that would follow, not a housecarl, they walk and stand like men. At first Uthgerd seemed a bit ruff but stands and walks like a woman will wear upgraded light armour like the scaled hide. She's taller than a male Nord I tried out but with my High Elf she fine.

She is my spouse on my current character also. Did not know she would wear light armor. Thought she was heavy only since she wears that when you first meet her. Will have to check that out. Maybe the fur armor those bandit chicks wear? Could be a nice change.

Married her too, but only for the free house. Never used her as a follower.

The fact that she's never home, but always at the local watering hole, is just fine with me and my follower Annekke ...

I know this is silly, considering we're speaking of 1's and 0's in a collection that eventually can be formed into a graphical image, but her face looks like it was trampled by a bucking deer... that fully intended to trample upon it. I actually picked her dreadful self up as a follower because I hoped she'd die on some fantastic voyage. Why would you marry that wildabeast?

I picked her up as a follower. She died in the first fight I took her to. Facepalm, waste of 500 gold.

Good choice! Uthgerd's a beast. I mean, she was barred entry into the Companions for being too good a fighter. That's saying something.

Only ever recruited her once...because she's gross. And the one time she was following me, she got killed by a bear while I was exploring.

Why would you marry that wildabeast?
Because beauty is superficial.

But a better reason is because it's possible to like her. She's a good fighter, and she's true.

She was made marriageable so you can RP a character with BSDM fetishes.

Why would you marry that wildabeast?
Like i said above, you get a *free* house in Whiterun.

You can get the house that way at Level one without spending a single coin of gold.
And she is *never* at the house. She spends 24 hours a day at the pub. I visit her every other day to collect my share from her business.

It's perfect!

If you want to be happy and live a king's life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
If you want to be happy and live a king's life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
All you have to do is hear what I say
An' you will be jolly, merry and gay
Therefore from a logical point of view
Always marry a woman uglier than you.

A pretty woman makes her husband look small
And very often cause his downfall
From the time she marries there and then she'll start
To do the things that will break his heart
And when you really think she belongs to you
She callin' somebody else honeydew
Therefore from a logical point of view
Always marry a woman uglier than you.

An ugly woman gives you your meals on time
And very often a peace of mind
At nights when you're lying in your cozy bed
She will kiss, caress you and scratch your head
She will never embarrass you at all
By exhibiting herself to Peter and Paul
Therefore from a logical point of view
Always marry a woman uglier than you.

Uthgerd looks and sounds like a horse. Call me superficial but I don't want that anywhere near me. I had the same problem with Mjoll, after a few game days, it's like running sandpaper through your ears. Lydia may have the personality of a jar of mayonnaise, but at least she's got a reasonably pleasant voice.

I don't know if there's a companion with a Ysolda/Sylgja's Voice who can be married... The Dunmer Telvanni girl in the College maybe, but I don't like the college.

She's voiced by Claudia Christian, who also voices Aela and Adrienne Avenicci, whom a lot of people seem to find attractive.

Honestly the crap people post about female characters just because they don't fawn and coo.

You're in luck! Jordis the Sword-Maiden, the housecarl given to you once you become the Thane of Solitude, is not only voiced by Ysolda's voice-actor but is easy on the eyes and fierce in battle as well. At 'er, tiger.

Honestly, the crap people post because someone has a different opinion!

I don't like how Aela and Adrienne Avenicci sound either, are you going to throw a fit because of that too?

I thought I effectively implied that the Housecarls weren't sufficiently interesting. Lydia's boring, all the housecarls are boring. Iona is the stand-out because she's annoying and boring. That would leave Janessa in Whiterun, but marrying a Mercenary seems a stones throw away from Marrying a prosttute.

I would definitely rather take Uthgerd or Mjoll over any housecarl. I also like how a lot of the dunmer females sound too, but that only works for dunmer females (Dravnyea the Stoneweaver, for example) So it's not about "Cooing" and "Fawning".

So, you are throwing a fit because you don't like someone's opinion on your opinion?

I see wut you did thar. The third grade called, it wants its logic back.

Probably worth mentioning that you can use Uthgerd's house unrestricted after the brawl, nobody needs to marry that draugr.

Also worth mentioning that none of the containers in her house are safe for long-term storage unless you marry her.

You mean that as an insult, but the brutal honesty of young children is quite telling. That's why I specifically chose third Grade. Nice try though.

I don't think so. I've yet to encounter a container that spontaneously changed it's behavior. The CK makes no mention of anything other than the 10 day respawn.

I like her.
She is married to my second character (He is some sort of a spell sword, a friend to the Followers of Stendarr). They travel together all of Skyrim on foot. Some times they get Meeko for a walk.
She looks rough on the edges, but she is a loving wife and a trusty friend. She is not that ugly either, I find her looks appropriate to the frozen land of Skyrim.

I still find it ironic that she is called the unbroken and a vampire broke her in half. With that name she should have been invincable like some of the other hirelings / followers are.

Guess she'll have to change the "Unbroken" part of her name now that she's married.....
