I was talking to one of my friends about NV and he was saying that you'll be able to melee with your gun. I think he's full of it but I wanted to see if anyone had heard anything about this.

No (I'm pretty sure).

There's been some discussion in the forums about the desire to have it, but it hasn't been mentioned by the devs... If it was in the game, it would have been shown by now.

Rage has it--in the videos, you can see the player hitting enemies with the butt of his rifle when they get too close.
