i am trying to make an illusionist mercenary who uses a bow,a bit of dagger work some light armour,expensive clothes and who only kills when he sees a proper reason too.


the high elfs are my favourite and they support the illusion and fashion and expense part of the build

dark elfs are sneaky,mean and cruel and a proud people so they fit but they dont have the civillised look im going for as i will hopefully eventually be a bard and live in solitude


khajits i have never played them before .they have a good sense of humour,look cool,but they're the stereotypical thief which is something i dont really like.

bear in mind im an avid oblivion and morrowind player and therefore take my race selection seriously

So i'm guessing orc is out of the question due to your brief character description. I'd say go Breton.

Well then it sounds like you have already chosen High elf based on your own descriptions. If you want more input you have to provide more info like character backstory or more about what direction you plan to take the character.

Elf races are usually above mercenary work. It's usually pretty Devious.

I'd say go Orc, Khajiit, Nord, Argonian, or Redguard. I'd personally play Argonian for a mercenary, just because that's the neatest concept to me.

You can be a Dark Elf. Good motivation to be a mercenary there.

Should be a good playthrough.

Go with a human race. Imperial or Nord perhaps? They are not know as the greatest masters of magic in tamerial like a high elf or such but your more likely to see one as a mercenary.

i picked dark elf,as they are quite devious and windhelm deserves to have its nord population slaughtered,so a dark elf will fit

I assume that means he'll roleplay?

Have you conisdered Argonian? They've some nice bonuses at start and you can always work on your illusion skill.

Ooh, I'm not the only one who goes with the "Only kills with good reason" method.

and if your a Khajiit you don't have to go with the Stereotypical Thief style, I'm a Khajiit and look down on thievery ._.
Like Ysolda said, Khajiit really only turn to thievery and smuggling so they can support themselves, Elsweyr isn't the richest province.
In addition I like being the "Unlikely Hero", knowing that Khajiit are the most infamous race.

But I can really support any Race for your choice.

ya,khajits looked great in their black hand robes in oblivion but unfortunately the black hand dosent exist anymore,meaning that i am less inclined to pick them in skyrim

Doesn't matter what race you choose. Anyone can be a mercenary.

i know that but this game is an rpg therefore i will role play
