Is Meyers good for Primm?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 7:43 am

At first I did not choose NCR because of taxes, but now i feel a bit regret because Meyers looks like a tyrant the end of game for me.

Do you guys think those who die in his hand are deserved it or they are actually innocent people?

Meyers isnt a tyrant, he's pretty much the atypical frontier justice kind of Sheriff.

The man who runs the Mojave Express even states he's brought law to town. He's not evil, he's just quick to dispatch justice. Example, you and I KNOW Al Capone was a criminal, legally, he was merely a man who didnt pay his taxes. Meyers isnt the kind of guy to play the game of Beuracractic hot potato, if he feels its common knowledge you're a criminal, he's gonna boot you.

He is vigilante cop, wich seems to be what Primm needs atm. And the citizens like him the most.
Now I personaly think a certain third option
Spoiler
The robot.
fits my view of lawenforcement better and is way more fun.

I'm leaving that trigger happy cowboy to rot in the NCRCF. And i'm not letting a robot decide on people's lives either.
So as usual the NCR is the lesser evil.

I don't think Meyers seems the type to shoot someone without knowing they broke the law, getting evidence in that type of setting could mean someone gets away or kills someone else. The ending slide says little or no evidence but that doesn't mean they didn't break the law. The Mojave needs more people like him in charge. The Ncr should have given him a job sorting out Ncr corruption instead of throwing him in prison.

I've tried this a couple different ways and I'm happiest for the people of Primm when Primm Slim is the Sheriff. I support the NCR but I wasn't happy with how they sounded on the radio so I didn't like it when I chose them. I knew about Meyer going on a power trip so I didn't choose him...he was a convict anyway so that didn't sound good. Primm Slim might not move very fast but the people avoided the taxation and Deputy Beagle was an idiot so losing his job might have been for the best. If he hadn't fallen asleep on watch at the beginning, the Sheriff and his wife might have not been killed. I think that's how it went down....so I go for Slim every time now.

Primm Slimm doesn't need to run very fast. He just needs to shoot very well.

I left Primm Slimm in charge on this playthrough, and so far he seems to be working out okay. I tried it with the NCR before and the rest of the town didn't seem very happy with them.

Beagle gripes about whatever choice you make, but he's a moron. Hey, I offered him the job in the first place and he turned it down. Now he can live with it.

I think it's implied that Meyer is a way better choice than the NCR. He's supposed to be the 'wild west' sort of sheriff in that he'll gun down anyone he deems to be a criminal. People seem to be happy with the choice as he brings law back to Primm without the taxes that come along with NCR rule.

Meyers gets the bonus of having a funny radio quip, AND people like him.

He's not a Tyrant....he's "Dirty Harry" Callahan with better manners. If you behave, he won't bother you. If you decide to commit serious crimes in Primm....he'll put you in the ground. Just the sort of lawman Primm needs at this point in time.

I'm not really satisfied with any of the choices, but I now always go with Primm Slim as he's not subject to either corruption or hesitation. True, a sufficiently tech-savvy criminal could hack him like I did, however anyone with sufficient skill for that is likely to already be working somewhere.

Plus, when you get the quest, he's standing right there.

I've done all three options. Meyers seems the best fit overall.
