Micro-Management For EmpireStormcloaks. [Idea]

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 9:41 am

Someone had a thread the other day about how Skyrim needs some more micro-management and I said I had an idea for that with regards to the Empire/Stormcloaks, so here it is:

One of the biggest issues after completing the Civil War is you really can't do anything else. I just worked all the way to top, gained that high rank, just to be able do absolutely nothing that a high ranking soldier should be able to do. Basically Skyrim could use an Assassins Creed Brotherhood type system.

*Rebellions*
-Allow me to send NPC soldiers to take care of any rebellions that may occur after a civil war through a map type feature.
-Allow me to spend gold customizing there gear, choosing if they are light, medium, or heavy armor users and how many to send.
-Allow those NPC soldiers to gain experience if they survive to become better soldiers & allow me to choose where that experience is spent.
-Allow me to recruit soldiers as followers.
-Allow me to lead the attack on the rebellion if I so choose.
-Allow for special quest that can be completed with following soldiers.
-Allow to command a fort, and possibly be given special abilities around that. (Idea by: DeanG)

Any other ideas? What do you think? Any micro-management added to Skyrim would be good IMO.

I'd just like to be able to actually clear out Stormcloak camps.. Most of them have essential NPC's in them DESPITE me choosing to join the Legion.

Yea that would be good too, after the civil war is complete they should no longer be essential... they do this with other quest essential characters, so don't see why it's an issue here.

Being able to choose where their experience goes, though I admit I am assuming you mean skills/perks as opposed to attributes in this case. Personal preference would be that you can recruit different types of soldiers and as they grow (whether through gold investment or battle experience, I don't know) to suit that type of soldier.

So you would prefer specialized classes, say Mage/ Archer/ One-Handed Warrior/ Two-Handed Warrior... and automatically gain experience by themselves or by the players spending gold, without choosing how the experience is handled? I would be okay with that too, honestly.

Yup, pretty much. I think it would be nice to be given command over one of the various forts dotting the Skyrim landscape as per your high position from the civil war - I think that'd tie in nicely with the ideas you've presented (especially from the Imperial sense, a Legate should have his own command, even if as Dragonborn we'll never be there :P).

Instead of this after civil war QL you go over to a bandit camp and go "hey so im starting this uprising, im not a good guy but you will all be rich" and there from you train them attack forts and after they are fully upgraded you can find them rulling over the many forts. They shall be called the army of gary.

Given command of a fort would be pretty awesome... will add that.

I like this idea. It would add some flavour to a dull dish.
