Might make a ''Death Knight'' kind of character.

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 1:07 pm

If I do, here are some of my ideas.

Appearance:
Nord (a big part of my characters are nords, I can create the best character appearance with those)
Probably female (I tend to make magic based characters female, more ''barbarian'' kind of characters I tend to make male, and even when this character is a warrior she does make alot of use of magic)
Perhaps scars, black hair, blind or grey eyes, pale skin
Ebony armor (Daedric looks nice, but it is more something for a demon warlord if you ask me, ebony seems right for a more human kind of Death Knight)

Skills:
Conjuration (to summon undead and demons)
Heavy Armor
One-Handed or Two-Handed (I am not very sure about this one yet)
Speech (intimidate)
Enchanting

I will also make use of Lycantrophy

RP:
I think roleplaying a Death Knight that became a hero instead of a villian would make a great story, I need more time to think about that though. Probably going to become Stormcloak.

Sounds like a fun build, might steal it from you at one point. Backstory could involve being a Daedra follower/champion.

I did not ment the Wow one.
I actually ment a cursed warrior who learned necromancy, I find ''Death Knight'' a fitting name for this build.

She will worship worship the nine divines, especially Arkay and Talos.
For Daedric princes...i don't know...Hircine maybe.
I also want her to be able to go to Sovngarde when she dies. (she is still a nord who prefers honor over power)
So unless i know a way to get her to Sovngarde as werewolf (probably impossible), i might cure her after the companions questline.

I got myself into a hard decision now.

Lol. That "politically correct" name for a character build.

Anyways, I think OP you may still want the shadowmere. It's a "knight" after all.

A good idea, she will start out filled with anger and confusion (explaining that she joins the dark brotherhood)
But i probably need to do the companions questline first, being a werewolf can be handy then since she won't be sneaky.
After that her mind gets clear again when she gets cured of her lycantrophy, as a result she will become one of the greatest hero's i have ever made.

Seems reasonable?

I made one a while back and forgot about it. Named him Pariah, he wore Ebony Armor and the Helm of Yngol, and used an Ancient Nord Greatsword

Hmmm, maybe i should just wait a while for this one.
Untill i get the pc version and a new pc. (this week if i am lucky)
And i also need to save up money or manage to sell my ps3 version.
Sure, i could take the advice of my brother and download the pc version...but i find that disrespectfull to Bethesda since they work really hard on games like this. And I don't trust torrents.

I think I will remember this for the moment that I have the pc version. Anybody has a good armor mod for this kind of build?
I will write them on a paper.

You could go with Dark Knight, but then somebody would use this :teehee:

Would be nice if i could, but i am not that great at scripting.
And i believe you need to script for armor mods, not completely sure though.

May I suggest the ebony armor/mail with daedric helmet, boots and gauntlets. I've got a similar character at the moment, he wears the ebony mail and hopefully daedric gauntlets and helmet when I find them (which will take forever without smithing or conjuration).

On master from the start, one hand, destruction and block as my fighting skills. Use sneak (the perks up to assassins blade), which is even more efficient than light armor due to weightless armor (steed stone), muffled boots and ebony mail effect. Restoration for healing and wards.

Bit of an all rounder, but he's versatile. Some enemies I may attack from the shadows, some I may hack to death and some I destroy in a barrage of destruction.

RP:
I think roleplaying a Death Knight that became a hero instead of a villian would make a great story, I need more time to think about that though. Probably going to become Stormcloak.

This is nearly my build and RP. Only, I don't refer to it as a "Death Knight", because I despise WoW, instead, I call it a "Shadow Knight", which is EverQuest's term for the class, or I just call it a "Summoner".

But my character is a Breton, who is both a great warrior as well as skilled in the dark arts of necromancy. I wear heavy armor, and dual wield swords (well actually currently I am dual wielding a sword and the Mace of Molag Bal), with a focus on necromancy magic, as well as Illusion (I feel that fear and frenzy spells fit a necromancer, as well as just fitting the overall RP of my character as well), along with Alteration (shield spells, also, Detect Life fits with the RP of a warrior that manipulates souls) and Restoration (part of tanking). I also utilize Enchanting and Smithing, both for RP purposes.

The class roleplay is a warrior skilled in dark arts, who steals the souls of his enemies, and harvests their energies to fuel his power, as well as imbue his gear with magical properties.

The character roleplay is the son of a wealthy Breton family in High Rock. The father shunned magic in his family after watching a very dear friend of his becoming twisted and corrupted by dark magic. He didn't want the same for his son. However, this only furthered his curiosity into magic, and eventually began to study under another close friend of his father's. It was here that he learned magic that would benefit others, healing magic. This further piqued his curiosity. As he wanted to learn more about magic, this opened up the door for the twisted and corrupted mage that was once close to his father to swoop in. He was kidnapped and held in captivity by this mage, where for years he saw the dark arts being performed. After he finally was able to make his escape, and headed towards Skyrim, he utilized those skills that he had picked up his years in captivity to aid the citizens of Skyrim, as well as fulfill his destiny and fight off the dragons out of Skyrim.

Well the concept of the Death Knight has been around much longer than that. It was just called different things in the past.

EverQuest, for one, called it a Shadow Knight.

Maybe I should just call her a Dark Warlord.
Seems fine to me.

EDIT:Well...since she would be female...Dark Warlady

Oh yes, I should not forget smithing.

I will also give her a cloak made of wolf fur (from the ''Winter Is Coming'' mod) when I get the PC version.
About three weeks is my guess. In that time I could make one on my ps3 to make sure that I like the build.

Yeah, Death Knights exist outside of WoW. They are simply another thing that Blizzard so creatively stole straight out of normal fantasy lore (like 99% of their canon).

Yup. EverQuest calls them Shadow Knights. In Warhammer, they are the Blood Dragon clan of vampires. I'm sure there are tons of other fantasy lores out there that have the "Death Knight" archetype of a warrior necromancer. It's definitely not a WoW creation, and I hate whenever I talk about building those types of characters in games like Skyrim, or writing about those kinds of characters in my own fiction, and people try to correct me and say "Oh no, you mean a Death Knight"

No, I don't mean a Death Knight. I mean what I freaking said.
