My character is in his mid 30's and hasn't found a decent mine yet. Every time I find a mine and I start to mine ore, I only get a few ore pieces then it gets depleted. Are all the mines this way? Or is there something that I'm doing wrong? Most of the mines I've found have villagers mining them too, so perhaps they're actually draining all the ore? Is there a location on the map where mines are abundant at and have a lot of ore in them?
Go southeast of windhelm, eventually you'll come across an orc stronghold with a ebony mine inside. The orcs constantly tell you to leave but they won't attack or anything.
The first Time I went to the mine I got just about 50 ebony ore.
You only get two pieces of ore from a vein before it's depleted, and some mines have more ore veins than others. The richests mine I've found so far was in an orc stonghold south of Marcath. Villagers don't drain ore and veins reset after 30 days
