Im realy tired of boosting my smithing up with iron daggers, but its been the only economical way to lvl it so far. I want to start making glass stuff, not only for my self, but to sell as well. Could you please tell me the name of the holds these mines are in? Id realy appriciate it. :whistling:

The Malachite Mine is around Kynesgrove.

Soljund's Sinkhole is east of Markarth in The Reach.

Hope you find what you're lookin' for. :foodndrink:

If you enchant all those iron daggers with low level souls you can sell them for a lot more.

ugh... all the more reason to rest for 24 hours at a time when you want to be well rested.. It's a good mechanic to utilize. Dragonborn must SLEEP

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Mining - All the locations can be found here.

According to the site, which I have not tested but would seem about right, ore respawns in either 10 or 30 days.

Thanks mate, Ill head out for these places tomorrow. Like I said, Im ready to be a real smith, and not just have smithing be an iron dagger fest that only leads to dragon armor. At the same time, the ingots for glass are expensive, and Id rather get them my self. Thanks!

Apologies for the bump, but I was curious. There's no gold armor or anything that one can make, is there?

I guess we can make jewelry with it. Does that increase crafting skill? I'd presume so but I can't be too sure. Other than that though, there's no use for it except to sell, right?

there isn't any armor it can be used to craft but it takes 1 gold ingot to increase the stats of the Konahrik mask

It would be pretty cool to be able to make a really expensive ceremonial armor with gold, silver, and gemstones.

Crafting jewelery is great way to level smithing beside the old iron daggers and its also a great way to get rid of those freaking gems we keep looting. Also all the ore that you mine can be sold as usually someone from that mine.

UESP.net will give the locations to most of those.

Documentation isn't complete but it's still pretty reliable, and will often give you things like "Northwest of City"

I remember reading somewhere that ore takes 30 days to regen, apart from Malachite which occasionally takes 15. *shrug*
