Mini-Nukes too limited?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 11:00 am

So far on my longest playthrough (about 50+ hours) ive found 4 Mini-Nukes. Ive been level 30 for a long time now and I havnt ever noticed anyone selling Mini-Nukes either but oddly I see plenty of Fat Mans around.

Is there anywhere to purchase Mini-Nukes or are there only a very few of them in pre set locations?

According to GECK, there are 11 hand-placed mini-nukes, plus 3 on a NPC up in the northeast corner of the map that carries a Fat Man w/ 3 rounds of ammo.

Best bet, install a mod that adds them to the list of what vendors will sell (like DENV 1.04).

I played for almost 60 hours and I think I only found 3 of them. Personally I don't really mind, I'm a leverage shotgun kinda guy.

http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36208 that enchaces all explosives and i think i adds mini nukes+ other things to vendors. It is good .. i mean if u get hit by a grenade/missile/mine or nuke(!?) IRL i doubt you will survive to tell the story ...

yeah i have to agree there are way to few mini nukes in the game. have them in the 3rd was one of the best parts just being able to blast the living hell out of anything you run across. :flamethrower:

Does it really matter? Bottlecap mines are better and the resources to make them are infinite.

I think that's some of the issue, if it really worked like an "I WIN" button when you launched a Fat Man at a group of enemies it might be okay but it's WAAAAAAY underpowered on top of being super rare.

Some of the balancing the devs did on this game seem to have limited the truly viable weapon options.

It's like Guns or Guns or maybe melee/unarmed.

Exactly. I wouldnt have a problem with there being a set amount of very few Mini-Nukes if the Fat Man was actually a decent weapon. If the Fat Man was buffed up a little and Mini-Nukes could be purchased it might make Explosives a more appealing skill.
