Can somebody tell me what the minimum perks needed for dragon armor is? I have smithing to 100, but no perks in smithing whatsoever.

Do you have to get all the ones before it, or can you skip around?

Enough to get to the DA perk. 6 I think. The Light Armor side might be a perk shorter than the Heavy Armor side.

you have to get all the ones before it first, on the side that you use (heavy or light)

My first playthrough, ( or maybe second ) I went up the HA side and made HA. But can't you make either, no matter which side you forego?

No, you can only make the ones for which you have the appropriate perk. You can improve ones for which you do not have the perk, although not to the same degree as ones for which you do have it.

I mean the Dragon Armor GM. No matter what side you go up. I thought you could craft either HA or LA versions of the Dragon Armor, once you got there.

You need the dragonarmor smithing as a perk. Then you will need to craft your own, unless you can find some from a vendor. Personally at 50 ive only seen one daedric bow for sale and no dragonarmor.

Not at all. That was my obviously epic fail at an attempted humor statement. It was referenced to your Location : the sixth circle of hell.
I meant no offence.

First off are you using heavy armor or light?

If you are using light armor, you need to go up the light armor side.
If you are using heavy armor, you need to go up the heavy armor side.

If you go up the light armor side you get to make dragon scale armor but not dragon bone.
If you go up the heavy armor side you get to make dragon bone armor but not dragon scale.

This is not skipping perks. The lines connect them. You need the minimum skill (max to 100 for dragon armor) plus the prerequisite skill. Glass for dragon scale, and Daedric for dragon bone. Of course to get these you must get their respective prerequisites and so on.

While not a required perk to get, arcane smithing is a good idea to get.

I don't think that is correct.

Don't even get dragon Armor it's not even worth it really, I mean i think it looks awesome, but then i compared it with my daedric armor and it's not even better! it takes away 1 perk point which could be used for something more useful and i have to have 100 smithing which isn't hard to level but it's a complete waste...I don't know why they even added it if its not even better then armor you can craft at 90 skill.

I suppose it's ok for Light armor characters though :D

Once you pick the Dragon Smithing(?) perk you can make BOTH Dragon Scale And Dragon Bone .. But going by the Light armor(Left side) of the perk tree you use 1 less perk.
