Minor Problems

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 5:38 am

I am having a number of problems with some minor things caused by a mod I am currently making. I appreciate any help :)

Firstly I am unable to select any hairstyles in the set itself. The dropdown is all blank spaces. Every other aspect of Character gen is working however. I was able to select hairstyles for a while at the start but then it just went blank.

I am also having problems with a cave entrance I have placed in the game. When I fast travel to the location the cave entrance(The rock) will not be there unless I travel to a place close by and walk or I go into the cave itself and come back out.

I also noticed that some random encounter npcs who spawn about 20 metres from the entrance do not move.

The last problem I am having is in relation to a new interior dungeon I created. I duplicated a small cave called Rimerock barrow but near the end of the cave there are big blue screens in game in between each corridor.

Hairstyles - Don't know, sorry - were working for me a couple of weeks ago, though (not tried since)

You can set the rock to full LOD. That will solve the problem (I think), but you should be careful with that setting as it is a performance drain

The npc's need packages. But if they are the vanilla encounter npcs either:
  • Clone the Actor and rename it (then use the clone) - And put a sandbox package or a patrol on it (or take one off if there is one by default)
  • Make the Actors Aliases of you quest - Then put patrols / packages on the Aliases (not the actors)

(Don't change the vanilla actors, or other quests and stuff might bug.)

And don't know on the last one, sorry ... Do they appear in game as well as CK?

Thanks for the quick reply. The blue screens are only in game.

In relation to the Encounter answer. I didnt add the encounter it was already there and the people who spawn there dont move.

Thanks for the help, going to try out LOD now :)

Sorry, never seen those :(

Check to see if the vanilla actor(s) or alias(es) have packages.

Or, I guess they may have a trigger box mechanic that you are not quite activating, from your cave entrance?

(Or they are broken ;))

Glad the lod thingy worked ;)

a lot of your problems sound like navmesh related bugs (stationary NPCs and, the lesser known disappearing statics bug, like blue screens inside caves)

the NPC bug is caused on esp only, the statics bug is caused by conflicting mods

if you are testing with other mods installed, try again with all other mods turned off, just to make sure its not being caused by something else.
