Missing Meshes Plague the Wasteland

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:27 pm

What exactly causes the game to not load textures properly? I find missing mesh exclamation points and objects/NPCs that take on the textures of other objects in the area everywhere I go. I don't even have that many mods installed and only have a few minor conflicts between them that shouldn't cause this to happen. I'm thinking it's a load order problem. If anyone can offer any input as to how I can resolve this, I would appreciate it.

What comes to mind for me is that you have files in your archive invalidation txt which you don't have installed the data sub folders.

If you click on one with the console open, it will display the FormID of the object at the top of the screen. Write down the first two digits and then check to see which it matches up to in Mod Manager. Keep in mind that you might inadvertently click on an nearly invisible misty mesh of some kind (lights, dust clouds), so test by using the disable/enable commands to see what disappears. If the exclamation mark doesn't disappear, then use the mouse wheel to scroll through all objects that were under the point you clicked.

So, what should I do?

Okay, I figured out what the problem was. I created patches with FNVEdit to override FOOK content and then I uninstalled FOOK without removing the patches. Deactivating the patches seems to have fixed the missing mesh problem. Thanks for the replies anyway.
