Mod merging question...follower mods

Oh godly mod makers!

I've been merging quite a few armor mods together to limit the *.ESP number as I run quite a few house, realism, and follower mods. Unfortunately, I'm coming to the point where I need to look at other possible mods to merge. Being as I have quite a few follower mods (along with a multi-follower mod) I was wondering if I could use the same technique with those or if they are a bit more complex to merge.

With the armor mods I typically load them in TESVSNIP, copy them into my "merged" ESP file, save them, then open the CK and let it renumber the FORM ID's if there are duplicates. I'm careful to make sure no names are the same. Thusfar, it works fine, even armors that have world placements and such.

Follower mods are looking to have a bit more 'pieces and parts' to them but was wondering if the same technique can be used...
