Do mods affect achievements?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:43 pm

Basically what the title says. I have at least one problem that a mod will solve (adding cards to a Caravan deck) and another that might as well
Spoiler
(can't use the terminal in the Vegas suite, right side of the barter screen won't scroll)
I'm not an achievement [censored], but they're nice to have if I qualify and, pragmatically, the exp dings are nice, so I don't want to lose them.

They do not. You are free to use mods.

No they do not. Infact if you wanted you could make a button that when activated, gives you every single achievement in the game.

Just hope that Beth or steam don't consider that cheating. As Blizz banned a few thousand people and killed their SC2 accounts(battle net) permanently a few days ago for doing something similar. And it was an available function via the editor. Which means no more game, or anything linked to that account.

The console is well known about and has been available to PC users for a long time. I doubt they will ever consider "banning" somone for using something they intentionally leave accessable, on a single player game of all things. Blizzard is blizzard, Bethesda is Bethesda.

And insanity is crazy. But that doesn't stop anyone from going off the deep end either. :)

Interesting... I was holding off downloading GECK until I had played through a few times and gotten all the achievements that I felt like getting.

Now I won't have that excuse to not waste hours fiddling in GECK... darn it.

That isn't even steam, SC2 uses battle.net.

I think Blizzard's main reasoning for this was that achievements from single player had some impact on multiplayer - minor impacts from what I understand but ultimately still an impact.

Therefore, SC2 players could choose - use the built in cheats, which disable achievements or use the 3rd party one which wouldn't and thus gain extras in multiplayer.

FV has no multiplayer so I seriously doubt it will be an issue for here.

Still, what's an achievement if you don't actually achieve it?
