Mods to make my play through awesome

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 3:37 am

I'm looking for mods that will make my first play through on PC great. I've played through skyrim 3 or 4 times on xbox and I'm looking for something that will make this play through something spectacular. I've downloaded quite a few mods most visual others dealing with companions and weapons the warzone mod to and the dragon mod that makes them drop new stuff and makes them more of a challenge. Though I still haven't found any that really change the story and factions, I'm not looking to make them different just more interesting if anyone has any ideas let me know cause I've been looking and haven't found much.

If you're into survival gameplay, you might be interested in my mod (sig) or Nitor's Hypothermia, and things like Imp's More Complex Needs and Camping Kit of the Northern Ranger.

About great mods with quests and changing the main story, is too soon. Creation Kit is still a baby... But...

ESSENTIAL mods for a great PC experience:

Unofficial Skyrim Patch

SkyUI (you have to install SKSE -Skyrim Script Extender- first)
Categorized Favorites Menu (also use SKSE)

Quality World Map with Roads
Unique Region Names

Enhanced Night Skyrim
Enhanced Blood Textures
Glowing Ore Veins
Improved NPC Clothing

Sounds of Skyrim - Dungeons
Sounds of Skyrim - The Wilds

sixy Cities (HD textures for cities). Riften and Solitude are my favorites. Amazing work.

You already have DD and WZ. Good. You also can try: OCS -Occupy Skyrim-

Sorry, no direct links, too lazy right now (but all the names are correct, search in Nexus)

I also suggest... Save often, save well. Learn how to do a "clean save" if you want to remove a mod. Use BOSS and Nexus Mod Manager (or similar)... But you already know all that. :D

If I could only use one mod on my next game, it'd be Interesting NPCs. I haven't played it yet (too busy with end-of-semester madness), but it looks fantastic.

I'm currently playing with these mods installed. Needless to say, I'm DOOMED!

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3646
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3829

.... and on MASTER difficulty! Wish me luck  I should point out that adding the mods I listed above, makes for VERY MEMORABLE fights! Almost like a story in itself really. It's GREAT. It also forces you to play with tactics instead of rushing in like a fool.

Edit: Oh, almost forgot. Playing the game with above mods, you'd want a group of followers with you at all times (they are your bodyguards) and for that, I highly recommend http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12933.

I recommend Dragons Hunt in Swarms. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13534

Makes for some truly epic dragon encounters.

Combine it with http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11623 and you can dump perks into the fun perk trees like pickpocketing without gimping yourself.

Hey Snake,

I've got something that won't just change the way you PLAY Skyrim, it'll change the way you THINK about Skyrim, for ever.

- The next update (maybe by the end of the month) will feature "Spell-Chaining" ... The ability to cast multiple spells with a single command.

Such as, going into combat and getting 1) Ebonyflesh 2) Summon Familiar 3) Ice Cloak 4) Soul Trap 5) a full FusRoDah 6) Sparks & Ice cast in 3 x 2 second bursts 7) Dual-Cast Flames, 2 x 3 seconds & finally 8) switching to a sword-and-shield, just by saying "Abracadabra" (or whatever YOU want to call it!)

Check it out!

or even the link in my sig, which goes to the project main forum pages.
