I'm posting this lore discussion in the Skyrim section since this has a significant impact on how I play my next character.

I'm having trouble figuring out the relationship between these two Daedra. It seems that they have nothing to do with each other, yet in the new Elder Scrolls Online MMO coming out, we see Molag Bal doing what Mehrunes Dagon does in Oblivion. Therefore, it seems as though they would have common grounds in worship. The fact that these two are centered around Cyrodiil also supports this claim.

What I'm wondering is, would my character plausibly worship both? In Skyrim, the only option for the Mehrunes Dagon quest is "you're either for or against." You have no option NOT to do the quest. With Molag Bal, however, I can start his quest whenever I please. So I'm conflicted. Would it be entirely against a Molag Bal worshipper's mindset to just up and kill a Mythic Dawn member? Or would my character go along with the plans to retrieve the pieces of the Razor and not worry about offending the Lord of Domination?

I'm not worried about the dead horse, "Oh your soul would be split amongst all the Daedra Lords, [censored] dun' make sense, Skyrim lore bad" discussion. I just want to know what choice would be most realistic in this case. Or if it wouldn't matter either way.

All Daedra are constantly dealing with and backstabbing each other. They know not to trust each other, but they will be on friendly grounds... for a brief amount of time, at least, for as long as a mutual goal is in the works. But, largely, they each have specific worshippers.

The whole thing in Morrowind should not be used as a counter-example. The Four Corners of the House of Troubles were viewed as the Bad Daedra, and the three "good" ones were honored due to their respect to the power of ALMSIVI, not worshipped outright.

So, no. It would not be approrpiate for a person to truly worship multiple Daedra, since one or the other will most likely eventually say "Worship me exclusively or get squished"
