Moon sugar is the Elder Scrolls equivalent of opiates. It's grown mostly in Elsweyr, home of the Khajiit, where they use it for religious reasons. It doesn't affect Khajiit as much as other races (except in-game, which is a little strange), so many others abuse it for a hallucinogenic purposes and making Skooma, obviously leading to addiction.

Skooma and Khajiit are the sweetcat version of Spice and Fremen.

I wish moon sugar and skooma had more unique effects. What do they do in Skyrim? Just restore stamina and that's it? Seems awfully lame seeing as though you can't get a addicted to it either.

I'm really disappointed by both Moonsugar and Skooma in this game.
Restore 25 Stamina is rediculous.
If you wanted to kill someone real fast in Oblivion or Morrowind you drank two bottles of Skooma and kicked their azz.
In Morrowind there was even Skooma Pipes as it can also be refined into a crystalline substance you smoke.

They should've done as in Fallout 3. The Chems in that game had very good effects you could use, like more AP. But excessive use could get you addicted.
Same with alcohol.

I wish I had a more complex way of handling it than just going into the inventory and OMNOMNOM

INstead, I just keep all vials and bowls of the stuff I find, but it's "Too Rare/Awesome to use"... kinda. I want my moonsugar and I want to eat it too!
