"Morang Tong"?

Having just completed the Thieves' Guild Quests, and becoming the Guildmaster, I was wandering around the room talking to some of the new npcs that have appeared in the guild, and stumbled upon a Dunmer claiming to be a member of the "Morang Tong". The whole time he was talking about his back story and his membership in the Morang Tong, I kept thinking "I always thought it was Morag Tong..".

Upon looking it up, it appears I was right, yet here is this dunmer that is saying "Morang Tong", both audibly and in subtitles. Is this some Bethesda mistake, or are they trying to depict the character as being a con artist who doesn't even know the name of the guild he is claiming association with? I would think all dunmer would know of the Morag Tong and the pronunciation of their name.

It's been gone a long time, maybe the dialect is just [censored] up over the past hundred or so years.

Give it a few years, it'll be Park's Brotherhood.

But isn't the dunmer life span similar in duration? Assuming this guy is a con artist, and not actually a member of the morag tong, he'd still remember them. Also, there were many dunmer in game who remembered morrowind as home. Honestly, I think this is a lore mistake on bethesda's part.
