So purchases of GameStop's Digital Download version were forced to install the game through Steam. After we had trouble following their install directions, we received an apology email explaining that we can't use their normal download method and instead it included directions to install through Steam along with a key to do so. Frustrating since I'm not a fan of linking games per Steam account, which of course it did, but that's another story

This morning I checked my email and (GameStop's DD partner) TryMedia.com had sent an email with a code specifically stating it was the proper Classic Fallout Bonus Pack... along with instructions on how to activate it... through Steam. So instantly warning bells go off that I'm going to get the Steam Caravan Pack instead. I followed the directions and loaded up the game... Sure enough, I got the Steam Caravan Pack not the GameStop Classic Pack. Went back to check my Steam transaction list, it says Caravan Pack. Went back to check my Code email, it says Classic Pack.

I have a ticket in with TryMedia.com Although the download problem was eventually resolved (sort-of) it's really a bummer to keep being left in waiting anxiety over these problems. They've really put me off from the concept of Digital Downloads which I figured would help the industry by improving their margins by not having to make and distribute physical materials. ...again I say... *sigh*
