More issues with FOMM

Post » Tue Jul 05, 2011 8:23 pm

I come here to the New Vegas mods forum even though it's not just limited to New Vegas, but affecting FO3 as well. NO matter what I do when I attempt to reinstall FOMM after uninstalling it as well as FO3 and New Vegas It crashes as soon as I attempt to open either FO3 or New Vegas mod manager (I kept both Data folders in a separate location). I have deleted every folder regarding FOMM that I can find, but to no avail, the crashes just continue.

If I thought it would help I would've asked for help from Kaburke, but support from him has unfortunately been no existent for quite some time. I really need some help in fixing this issue.

Which version of FOMM are you trying to use? If it's the latest version, do you have an older one you can try to install? I'm still using 0.13.10 and so far have been fortunate enough to avoid most of the problems people have been reporting.

Have you tried installing an older version from http://sourceforge.net/projects/fomm/. That might solve the crashing issue.

Hi Ghouls

Unfortunately in my frustration I nuked the hard drive (OS) a few minutes ago (I have three of them, so all is not lost). Believe me, I've tried everything I know to get this working properly. I had deleted every possible folder I could find regarding FOMM, Fallout 3, New Vegas, Wrye Bash/Flash, Steam...the works. Nothing helped. The bad part of this is that this all started when I installed service pack 1 after my most recent OS re install last week...which caused every single game I own to crash on start up. Believe me, I won't be installing SP1 anytime soon after this mess.

What I would really like, besides support from Kaburke on FOMM is a separate mod manager for each game that's installed in that games directory like it used to be. This way seems to be more hassle than what it's worth.

It really is a drastic solution, but it seems to be the only one that works.
