[Reqz] More stuff that blows up

There was a thread about this a few weeks back and I'm sure someone said they were doing it but I can no longer find the thread or the mod. The idea being to replace all the non explodey cars, trucks, bikes etc (basicaly all of them) with the explodey type to bring back that random explosions and chain reactions feeling that Fallout 3 had. Also to introduce exploding version of the new vehicles, ie police cars, pickups etc

Anyone know if it ever got made or does anyone feel like picking it up?

I'd like to see this too, especially the comment that mentions the Destruction mod from FO3 (Though if possible in a more compatible way... though that probably can't be done). It's just nice to be able to drop a mine and put a mini nuke on top of it and stuff like that.

I'm all for more explosions as well. I kinda miss all the exploding cars (yes I know they still explode, just not in the frequency as FO3). Also would love to see Explosive Explosives make a comeback, or even Explosive Entry. :nuke:

They don't. The vast majority of cars in New Vegas are the non exploding burnt-out-wreck variety. I've found a couple of trucks that exploded, and one bike, but that exploded like a grenade, not in a big fireball like in FO3. I don't think I've seen an exploding car yet....and I've been looking.

I really miss the moments in FO3 where you were fighting some raiders and then suddenly you'd hear the tell tale muffled bang, you'd turn round to see the car next to you burning and you'd have a few seconds to run to safety. Or the opposite, when you see some raiders take cover behind a car and you could fire a few rounds into it to take them out. It just doesn't happen in New Vegas

As for the destruction mod, it was a nice idea, I just don't think it was ever particularly well implemented. It was cool if you installed it and then went around shooting bookcases and chairs, but most of the time it was barely noticeable. It also added extremely annoying random deaths when you accidentally blew something up, and you couldn't use explosive weapons without destroying every ammo container in sight.

This one can make some more of the standard issue cars (it doesn't touch cop cars, the little rocket cars, trucks, etc., just the Corvegas) explode. Exploding burnt hulks too if you want (again, only the Corvegas), it has some choices for the esp.

I'd like to see a mod with more explosive stuff as well, and beefed up motorcycles explosions--underwhelming.

Not bad, just need to add in the other cars and it'll be sorted. Was so disappointed on my first play through when I saw that truck full of bikes near Mojave Outpost. Was all geared up for a huge bang, lobbed in a grenade and ran for cover, then was treated to a crappy little pop as the grenade went off ?_?

Do non burnt cars actually explode in New Vegas or is it that they've just placed nothing but burnt cars?

For the most part, they've only placed car hulks (the ruined remains), not too many originals.

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36208 does make minor changes to the explosions put off by cars/trucks. I don't remember if I touched Motorcycle explosions.

In http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37248, I'm adding things that go boom. Mostly extra traps, but also things like additional cars and changing/adding fuel tanks that go boom. Depending on whether it interferes with merchant caravans, I plan on going up and down I-15 and 93/95, placing cars that will randomly show up on a particular game.

Unfortunately, there's no destroyed hulk model for the broken down pickup trucks that you see everywhere. If there was, I could make those destructible as well. In fact, the pickup trucks are regular statics - not movable statics, so you can't even attach destruction data or scripts to them. (So the first step is to disable them and replace them at those positions with movable statics - but you still need a destroyed model version.)
