After trying out armored trolls this is apparent. So far it has done nothing but get in my way, get lost or stuck, or get me stuck. Its path finding is worse than regular followers for sure. I got killed by a group of bandits because the freakin thing got stuck behind which disabled me from moving. I expected more fighting and less following from a troll but the thing seems scared all the time. Oh well, that's what I get for hiring a troll to follow me around.

Can you give it equipment?

No really though I hope you just had a bad experience with him. This was one of the things I was looking forward to.
